I like the Pepperidge farms potato hot dog buns or Hawaiian hot dog buns, all sold at walmart.

I would love to have a hot dog bun cut in the middle. That 2/3rd cut sucks.
ETA: I not talking about top cut.

I like to steam some fresh Evangeline Maid hot dog buns in a colander.

Sara Lee makes fancier hamburger and hot dog buns, Walmart carries them and they're very good. The potato/egg buns at Oak Point are also very good. Whole Foods probably has some options.

I've been getting these for the past few months.

I don't know what brand to recommend to you, but I will tell you having a super fresh bun can make a cheap-arse kiddie weeny taste like a gourmet meal.

I can't upvote these potato buns enough.

I usually buy the nature’s own and put the dog in them, wrap in foil, and let them steam in the moisture from the dog for 20 minutes or so. It makes the bun shrivel up a bit and look less appetizing, but I think it tastes much better.
