Brewed our Iron Brewer test batch Sunday afternoon... I got a new chiller for Christmas but completely forgot to get fittings for it, so I went with the no-chill method, and pitched last night. No activity in the kettle, so that's good, it should be fermenting away when I get home this evening.

Since I switched to bigger fermentors it really hasnt been an issue. We shall see, about to head home for lunch.

I checked on it when I got home. Almost worse than a bunch of crap in my fermentation chest was the lack of activity. It looked like it was starting up, but if it is not going by 430 when I get home I will be pitching more yeast.

First pours of my mosaic IPA today. Carbonation is still a bit low but it's otherwise delicious. I think I've finally got my process dialed in for hoppy beers: cold crash primary, rack to a co2 purged carboy for dry-hop at room temp, and then cold crash and rack to a co2 purged keg. It explodes with hops like if it had floaters but it's really clear.

This beer is like 6.5% tropical fruit punch deliciousness.

Got a shipment of some BSI Drie yeast in yesterday. My dad and I share the same name, so our secretary gave the package to him. He then threw it out as he thought it was a prank package because it smelled funny. Then the dumpster got emptied last night

That's an issue. What a weird problem to have.

Unfortunate indeed. The guy who shipped it was a guy who runs a brewery out in CO and had put together an order for a bunch of us. I know a few others guys around Nashville got some vials, so I'm going to see if they would be so kind as to build some up for me.

Well good luck then sir.

On a positive note, my beer was fermenting away this morning. Unsure if the original yeast took off or it was the so5 i threw in last night. But regardless it was fermenting.

Used to order them from Austin Homebrew or just keep empties after drinking. Now I pick them up at the local HBS.

Too bad you arent in baton rouge. I have a couple case of bombers I was contemplating throwing away.

I'm about to toss a bunch of them too, I will probably hit up the beer club first before the recycling bin gets them.

Moving all my beer shite is going to be a pain in the arse. (I am moving houses by the way)
