I've been telling you purgers this for years.
it doesn't mean purging is bad. just salt doesn't add to it.

Also, quit dumping tony's on the crawfish after they have been removed from the pot.
Does anyone actually enjoy this?! Makes me want to smack a bitch anytime I go somewhere and the crawfish are served this way.

quote:I'm betting some do since plenty of places use that style to season. Plus , there are commercial seasoning blends that are specifically made to be applied to the crawfish after boiling and steamed/melted onto the product...wrap your head around that.
Does anyone actually enjoy this?

Yet I still find that people purge with salt. Thanks for contributing.

Once some folks get an idea like that in their heads, they can't seem to turn back. They're convinced it does something and they can't imagine not doing it before they boil.

Cool. Ran Crawfish to Austin, with Brother, 1985. Had a Circulating Tank in Cedar Creek.
Lost everything - due to many Circumstances.

Damn I didn't realize they were going far in the 80's. We were running to Houston back then but not nearly the numbers of today.

ok so salt does nothing to help the purge.
will eating a "straight" tail kill me? was it really dead before the boil?

We got them from Branch - Threw them in the back of a Van - Covered with Canvas Sacks - Bags of Ice.
Loss was 30%, to Austin.
Loss was 30%, from Purging.
We were learning - at a Cost.

Clearly Texans don't deserve crawfish, in G-d's eyes at least.

As someone whose crawfish are squeaky clean from running water through the ice chest for half an hour... I hate purgers. They never clean them properly.
Best addition to your boiling mix...ever. an extra container of garlic powder, habenero pepper sauce, and celery salt.
I also boil fresh jalepenos with mine.
Took me five years to perfect my recipe...and if someone messes it up by screwing with my crawfish and dumping salt on them while they flush....they are immediately uninvited.

I went to a crawfish boil here in Alabama and this is exactly how they seasoned them. I ate only one and made an excuse to leave. I was laughing my butt off when I got home because some people at the boil were complaining about how hot (seasoned wise) they were. The stores here (WalMart) carry Louisiana products.
