May have been mentioned already: buy a spiralizer - it's an awesome kitchen tool for a healthy diet.

Which has less fat 93% lean ground turkey or 93% lean ground beef?
They have the same. But 93% ground turkey tastes like hammered s$!t. I don't worry as much about fat as I do carbs. I buy what ever is on sale, ground round, ground chuck, and if turkey is cheaper than I do turkey. Whole30 claimed you needed to only eat grass fed beef. We ground grass fed is $8 a pound at Publix. So I did not buy it.
If you are gonna do bacon, buy Maverick or something from a butcher. Most of the bacon on the shelf has been injected with tons of sugar and etc. Sugar is bad.

Ground turkey breast is 99% lean. I have never seen 99% lean beef for sale.
True.
Most people though are not using 99% lean ground turkey though. They just pick up ground turkey and assume it is healthier.

I do see 96% ground beef though.

Just looked that up. Interesting. Wouldn't just buying Zoodles be the same thing or are they packed with preservatives??

1. Don't call it diet. It needs to be a lifestyle change or it won't last
2. Follow the advice below
It's spot on
Good luck

Natural food from the edges of the grocery store and nothing from the middle. -High protein and high fat meats that you cook on your own, don't buy precooked or frozen stuff if you have the time and can do it on your own. That doesn't mean don't buy a rotisserie chicken, those are fine and are convenient, this means don't buy that Jennie-O "turkey" loaf frozen bullshite and think youre eating turkey. -Any vegetable you like - carrots, squash, onions, peppers, cauliflower, broc, greens, avocado, green beans, snap peas, asparagus, etc. Roast them, grill them, saute' them, steam them, eat them raw dipped in hummus, etc. -Find out where your maintenance calories are, then put yourself at a 200-300 calorie deficit. You should gradually lose the weight, it's a marathon not a sprint. Shoot for .5-1.0 lbs per wk. If you factor in lifting weights (not just cardio) then don't necessarily pay attention to the scale as it can be deceiving. Use the mirror, the way your clothes fit, and overall how you feel as indicators of your progress. You could gain muscle mass and bodyweight from lifting but lose bodyfat giving you the leaner look youre after. -Don't avoid delicious shite. It's OK to have a beer or three on the weekends. Bacon and eggs are good for you. Eat a steak often. Cook with butter and throw margarine away. Enjoy everything you eat. If you enjoy what youre eating then it will become a lifestyle and not a "diet". Don't sweat falling off the wagon and devouring a pizza. Shoot to eat within your healthy limitations 90% of the time. Good luck.

I've never seen zoodles for sale in a grocery store, but if I had to guess there are some preservatives in anything prepackaged.

To each their own...I love squash. Though you can literally spiralize anything. I did a recipe the other night that used spiralized zucchini, onions, and bell peppers.

My Whole foods has it done out and it's fresh for sure.
I also eat some potatoes but I am extremely strict elsewhere and usually eat potatoes around my lifts
FTR, I have lost 28 lbs since last September so I am kinda in the same mold as OP. I wasn't 'fat' but could lose some and did

You most likely also has a lower than 2200 a day calorie count which is the safest way to loose weight but as others said is slow.

-Drink only water and black coffee.
-Cut out any and all carbs (bread, potatoes, rice).
-Obviously don't eat anything fried or processed.
-Eat grilled chicken and fish and veggies (don't douse in butter or any sauce).
-Sparingly eat fruits (high in sugar). Don't eat bananas.
-Exercise.
How the frick do you get enough calories from only eating lean meat and veggies? A large chicken breast has 231 calories. 231. If you eat 5 of them in a day you'd have 1150 calories. You could eat a mountain of plain veggies and fruit (which are the only other things on your list) with this and not get to 1500 calories for the day. An average adult male that is even moderately active burns like 2400-2500 calories in a day. That's a thousand calorie deficit. Almost no one can adhere to that diet. You're an idiot.

The OP is trying to lose weight.
Good grief dude.

If I cut out soda then I would probably drop 10 in 2 weeks. Started the diet for lunch and going strong. Five hours into diet!!
Any thoughts on protein drinks after the workout. I have been doing this for years but would it help the diet if I cut it out at least for the short term??

I'll be a lot easier if you do a little weight lifting.

They aren't packed with preservatives but the bigger obstacle is availability and price. They were available 2 out of 5 trips to Whole Foods, not ideal. A couple of zucchini is pretty cheap, but a 10. 7 oz container costs 5.99, which is about 2 spiralized zucchini, in my estimation.
However, I recently noticed that Whole Foods had zoodles on their salad bar, which would be cheaper than packaged, but still pricey for what you're getting.

I just picked those up at my local Whole Foods tonight. 4.99 here. Still high for zucchini.
