You can keep the whey post workout. Casein is good before bed as well but neither are necessary. Try calculating your macros. It will help know what you can and can't fit in to your day

I used to drink two protein shakes a day...cut them out completely over a year ago and haven't looked back. I've maintained the same weight and muscle (maybe lost a bit, but that is probably more due to taking 3 months off from the gym). The extra money in my checking account each month is nice too. Used to spend at least $100 every month or two on supplements...now it's like $100 every 6 to 8 months.

Yes. If you eat properly you won't need these. If you want shakes then make fresh ones with yogurt, almond butter, banana, honey and any combination of coco powder/vanilla extract/almond extract. You get great protein in this without all the other additives in the prot powders. Plus it saves you a TON of cash

I'll probably get slammed for this but Nutrisystem works. $250 a month. Combine with walking 10,000 to 20,000 steps a day and replaced soft drinks with water. I'm down 20 pounds in 5 weeks.

I have lost about 15 lbs over the past month, all by avoiding all breads and sugars. It was hard at first, because I'm an "always gotta have dessert" kinda guy, but now I don't crave that stuff nearly as much. My favorite meals are steaks, beef stroganoff, and especially omelettes. For dinner I usually have a 3 or 4-egg omelette loaded with veggies, cheese, sausage, bacon, etc.

I weighed in at 212 lbs yesterday. I'm cutting soft drinks to 1 a day and that alone should get me down 5 or 10 lbs quickly.

Maybe my memory is wrong. I'm old.

I have two elderly parents who are both thin so I tried to emulate their eating habit of a large lunch with a light dinner. Distilled alcohol, not beer, without sweet mixers. No soft drinks. Move around.
Some of the things that helped me lose weight:
Flaxseed meal (not regular flaxseed) added to smoothies, etc for fiber.
Mission low carb tortillas
Red lentil pasta - high in protein, topped with no sugar marinara sauce
Dash egg cooker. I eat 2 or 3 eggs a day and this makes it so easy.
Coffee
Uncured salami and pepperoni
Lots of green veggies
SOY Delicious no sugar added "ice cream"
Move around
