I usually marinate chicken tenderloins or breasts cut into strips and grill. It's a fairly simple recipe.

Olive oil, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, squeeze of lemon and chicken base powder. Let marinate for 30 mins and grill.

Sure it works, but it is completely unnecessary and depriving the body of some important nutrients. Why eliminate fiber (a carb) when you can still eat it and lose the weight? Makes no sense to me

Keto diet is eliminating net carbs. Which are all carbs except fiber. Though it is hard to get enough fiber without a supplement. It's not like low carb diets are a new thing. I think sugar busters has been around since the 80's. The hardest part for me was cutting out rice.

You don't have to go full paleo or keto nut. But cutting sugars out is a great place to start.

I saw a couple people posted recipes which I will be trying.

Paleo "Egg Roll in a Bowl"

1 tsp. coconut oil
1 lb. ground pork
5 minced garlic cloves
1/3 cup coconut aminos
1 tsp. freshly minced ginger
1 tsp. rice wine vinegar
1 tsp. sesame oil
1 10 oz. bag coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
sliced green onion & sesame seeds, to garnish

Melt coconut oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.

Add pork and cook until browned, using a wooden spoon to break up.

Combine garlic, coconut aminos, ginger, vinegar and sesame oil in a small bowl.

Add sauce and coleslaw mix to browned pork and stir. Reduce heat and cover; cook for 15 minutes or until vegetables are soft.

Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds.

Meal prepping can help keep you on track as well, or at least semi-meal prepping.

You can make your "sides" for the week by doing what I posted earlier. Buy every fresh vegetable that you like along with a sweet potato or two and dice everything up into 1" chunks. Take a roasting pan and scatter everything about and pour a few tbsp. of olive oil over everything. Roast for about 30-45 mins in the oven and you have your side dish knocked out for the rest of the week. All you have to do is get home and grill a steak, chicken breast, salmon steak, sauté shrimp, burger patty, etc. 15 mins and dinner is done and only one dirty dish.

Here's an example of a lazy cook night for me last night. I didn't have anything prepped but threw this together based off of what I had on hand.
-2 lbs of pork ground meat
-1 yellow onion
-1 bell pepper
-garlic
-1 pack of frozen steampack of broc with herbs
-1 pack of frozen steampack of corn with peppers

Sautéed the onions, bell and garlic for a few mins in olive oil. Then pork in the skillet and put the steampacks in microwave. After the pork was pretty close to done, I mixed in the steampacks with everything and voila. Wasn't the best but wasn't the worst and it took no effort and less than 20 mins. Keep healthy stuff handy and you can do creative stuff all the time instead of McDonalds.

It's an animal. Youre golden. Stay away from sauce or at least don't slather it on and youre OK. Ribs are extremely calorie dense, but if you can make it fit within your allotted amount then eat a whole rack.

I use a combo of multiple diets, the basis is IIFYM. I don't go off the path though eating pop tarts and pizza because I can fit it in my macros that day. I stick to leaner cuts of meat .I am a high carb person and eat a lot of fruits, veggies, rice, and oats. But it works for me and keeps me with the energy necessary for my workout plan. I also combo bits from other diets into it that make it work better for me (whole foods, carb targeting, IF, etc.) just not full fledged into any other ones. I find natural/minimally processed foods work best for me. I did the Paleo thing for a little while and I felt exhausted when training as well as looked "flat".

Everyone's body is different and will react differently, but the science is not. Can't eat more than you burn and expect to lose weight.

You do realize ground turkey does not have less calories or fat than ground beef right? I eat it because it is half the price but most people assume it is healthier.

I eat 85/15 ground beef about 50% of the time. Ground deer and pork mix the other 50%. I havent eaten ground turkey in years.

just cut back on your servings a little. one of the biggest mistakes that people make is trying to rush the weight off. so.......set your goal to lose 1 lb per week. that certainly isn't very hard to do.

don't rush to lose weight fast. big mistake.

Correct. It does not have the inflammatory properties of red meat though

This is good to know. I was unaware of this aspect. People I know who did the zero carb diets refused to even consume fiber, so they were on the extreme side then

I fricking wish I didn't hate beans. They're like the best thing you can eat. I just gag at the texture. Give me a bowl of chips and some black bean purée and I dominate it, but whole beans just don't do it for me.

It does when you add this to it.

Sure it's not eliminating beef altogether, but it's still much less than cooking 5 pounds of ground sirloin.

Even without the beef base the turkey tacos taste pretty damn good. That Alton Brown taco seasoning recipe is great stuff.

Why add beef flavoring when you can just use beef? It's fine in moderation. Just eat chicken or fish mainly then beef like once a week.
