Looking for some good casual places for lunch/dinner
Timbers Log Cabin Restaurant is good spot for lunch. It is off of Glades Road; i.e. the craft area loop road near Gatlinburg. Google it, there are lots of pictures of the food on the internet.

Just got done eating at peddlers steakhouse. Good food and great service

We also ate lunch yesterday at cliff top bar. One of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. It’s up on the mountain at anakestas. There wasn’t many people there because of the weather But I could see it getting busy on a regular day.

Was gonna suggest the Peddler. I love Calhouns ribs are good spinach maria is great. For pancakes you cant go wrong with the Pancake Pantry but get there early. The Log Cabin is an excellent breakfast choice too. Im a little biased as these are long time family favorites. You know traditions and what not.

Its a bit of a drive, but English Mountain Trout Farm. Is really neat. You catch 'em; they cook 'em.

For lunch-Taste of Italy for italian/pizza. NY style pizza, good prices.

I would avoid the pancake houses in Gatlinburg, unless you are staying downtown. The ones in pigeon forge have the exact same food, but lack the hour+ wait time.

They took a hard hit in the fire, but Buckberry Inn had a kickass dining room. Perfect views of the mountain and a killer elk steak( rack? what do you call this?)

We liked the Timberwood Grill at "The Island" in PF. Good casual place.

I love Gatlinburg itself. All the pigeon forge and Sevierville stuff I am nit a fan of. Looks like I drive here in Orlando.

Old Mill Cafe was very good
No offense to you, but that place is a shite hole. It's a trough of precooked/canned food slopped around for fat-assed tourists.

Updating for future reference:

The Local Got - Great suggestion. really enjoyed it. Beer selection was decent but could have been better. Overall not too bad. Burgers were solid as it gets

Brick & Spoon - Had breakfast/Brunch here. Good place. Had a good looking lunch menu as well. Not too pricey, good drinks. Had a legit bloody mary. Marketed itself as the ownership was nola based. Would eat here again

Puckett's - Wasn't expecting much but was actually impressed with what we had. I got a nashville hot chicken sandwich which was very good. Others in our party got the fried chicken which is tgeir specialty and catfish plate which were both very good.

Five Oaks Farm Kitchen was good. Portions were huge as we could barely eat half of our entrees. It was actually better than I expected. Would like to try their bbq next time.

I was pleasantly surprised with Dollywood. I thought it was going to be a tacky shite show but it wasn't. It was well done. I had not been in over 20 years so i wasn't expecting much. The grounds were well taken care of, decorated for halloween, and had lots for all ages to do since we have two little ones. Crowds were very light which made it better.

Anakeesta was also very cool. Tons for everyone to do with great views. Let the kids go play and run around with he grandparents while we drank at the cliff side bar. Did not try the food but from what I could see, it looked very good.

Stopped at Kings Distillery and The Apple Barn on the way out. Bought several bottles from Kings. Tried all their offerings and was very impressed with everything they did.

The Apple Barn was something I wish we had more time at. We got some ciders to go but did not get to experience much else there but it looked like some good food and drinks. Have to check it out next time if we go to that area.

Didn't get to try Bennet's BBQ as I was really the only one wanting bbq at the time.

Gatlinburg was nice. Felt like Fairhope, AL with less class. It could actually be a whole lot better than it is. Found it funny I could go to a store that sold chocolate and candy treats downstairs, and then sold automatic weapons upstairs.

All in all great suggestions from the board
