Heading to Lafayette, any recomendations for the Half Shell Oyster House?

I hear they have about 10 locations but I don't know of anyone who's ever been to one. Maybe that's a bad sign?

The only time I went I had a fried green tomato BLT that was pretty good. I’ve certainly had worse lunch experiences.

Stay away,far away. PoBoys Riverside and Shucks are two that come to mind. Dragos is overpriced but it is Dragos. For low key,I enjoy R&M Boiling Point, they're more than just boiled.

I’ve been to the one in Hard Rock Biloxi and in Mobile. Both were very good. The one in Hard Rock is the only one with a sushi menu, I believe, and the Dynamite Lobster on that menu is my single favorite food item at any restaurant anywhere. Everything I’ve had there has been very good though. Never had a bad meal at Half Shell.

Have eaten at the Gulfport and Covington sites. Very good seafood joint. Wished they'd open one in Katy.

Go 20 extra miles south to shucks, order a margarita, oysters any way, get the shucks stacker, then get the bread pudding. Then sleep in your car!

I really enjoy their oysters Orleans over the other three varieties. I eat the Covington location once a month or so for business meetings.
I do find it a bit expensive for dinner compared to other local options with just as good if not better food.

We go every time we’re in Laffy. Get the Oysters Orleans- I could drink that smoky sauce they put on it
