Where can you buy dat at?
We have it here in most stores (Kroger mainly). Or if you’re near or passing through Iowa, you can get it at their store there.
It’s so good.

I like Bergerons on Hwy 415 in Port Allen. I find it better than most. I use Green Onion Sausage, Andouille and Tasso. Moonie Bergeron smokes with Pecan Wood, as do most. But some are better than others.
Here in Texas, they opened a Best Stop in Katy. I go here.

I make my own sausage. For store bought,
Bourque's
Rabideaux's
Best Stop
Veron's
Kartchner's
Billy's
Don's
For a large Supermarket chain who makes their own, Super 1 in Carencro makes some of the best pure pork green onion sausage or jalapeno sausage you can find anywhere. A friend works their and he is the master!

I go with best easily available. Which for me is typically Murrays. They usually have some interesting mixtures which I may grab if I know what I'm gonna do with it. Otherwise I usually just go andoullie. If I'm at a grocer that doesn't have anything "special", I will go with something like rabideauxs, verons, savours in descending order. I like verons flavor but I dislike the casing and typically cut it off before cooking with it if thats what im using.
Tangental story, I ate a gumbo at my parents house around Christmas. I commented on how good the sausage in it was. They told me my aunt who lives in Lafayette got it for them from some hole in the wall I want to say near opelousas but I was too many drinks in to recall where. She didnt know the name of it in any case but next time I see my aunt I'm gonna find out what it was BC it was excellent. Its probably one of the ones mentioned in this thread but its hard to say for sure.

Was probably from Country Meat Block in Opelousas....they have a great consistent product. Easily my favorite for gumbo.

The Mowata Store and Coleman's in Iota are my two favorites.

Rabideauxs
this and its not close.
market basket is actually pretty good and there are couple places around Lafayette that are decent but most sausage that people brag about on here sucks major dick compared to rabideaux especially the pork and venison.

Rabideaux's smoked andoullie is GOAT. Plus it's an easy stop off I-10.
But I can vouch for Teets. Only been 2X - once to their old store in '16 and once to the new one. It gives Rabideaux's some competition.
LA has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to specialty meat stores.

Our Walmarks started carrying this recently and we tried it. Low key very good. Not trying too hard, just basic good.
I also love that Hogs for the Cause or whatever brand that Rouses carries.

I had it several years ago at a fundraiser. The guy put it on the pit and had hot dog buns for it. It was good. I bought some after that and put it on the grill as well. I haven't used in gumbo, but the guy at the fundraiser does and I've had his and the gumbo was good.

What is your go-to brand/kind of sausage for your top tier Gumbo?
Just got a new shop close by that is kicking out some damn good sausage and other great stuff (crackins, boudin, smoked meats, etc.).
The Cajun Butcher in little ol biddy Glenmora, LA.
