The shed is worth it once to experience it
The food was disappointing
Have no desire to ever go back

Mary Mahoney's is great, and I bet you remember The Friendship House. How about Chappy's?

Chappy's

Was just a wee lad when Chappy's was open. Remember it being the place to go. There used to be a steakjoint in Waveland called "Jacks" that was also favored.

Dined at Chappy's several times. They had good food. Also went there with some others in my wild days when I was very drunk after about 36 holes of golf. Asked my friends the next day if I needed to go back there and apologize for anything. Was told I wasn't too bad.

spent the weekend in BSL, finally some nice weather.
Bay Town Inn is spectacular, perfect place to stay.
we ate outside at TBT, better food than it needs to be for sure.
lunch today at murky waters in Gport after beers at chandeluer. Great beers (really great), BBQ was OK nothing to go out of your way for.

we drove around all day today looking at houses.

I like Government Street Grocery in Ocean Springs a lot. It reminds me of the old Chelsea's Cafe, but the food is even better.

I ate at TBT a couple of times this weekend, crawfish and wings (sauce on the side that I doctor up with sriracha)...was a crowded weekend in the bay for sure.

Any interesting places over on this side?

all things considered we like old town BSL the best, but there's nothing for sale that i like or would consider a good use of my money right now.

shite we could just stay at Bay Town Inn 20- 30 nights a year and still come out way ahead

And be in a better location. I haven’t seen the rooms at the Pearl, but I assume they are nice.

Very few for sale signs. I think folks work with realtors, like JMR, and scoop things up before they hit the market.

This is a new listing.

Murky Waters in Gulfport is legit the best bbq you're ever going to find. It's less than a mile off the coast.

Not sure of your price range, but know of two new constructions breaking ground in the next few weeks in old town a block from beach Blvd. Will be north of $500k though, more permanent family homes than vacation spot

trying to keep it to a small weekend place less than 300. same as everyone else i guess...

regardless i have a bunch of friends in BSL and bay town inn is a great comfortable place to stay. we probably will just settle in there when we want to go and just be patient on buying something. hard to beat 1HR door to door each way

If you are looking for really good BBQ, just pick up Blue Oak and bring in ... I think all of the places in BSL are just picking up from the same guy (all Six BBQ joints within a mile that is)

Scratch that, I saw your profile. I’m sure we share acquaintances

My reply on the bbq was partially tongue in cheek, but its crazy that there are (going to be) six bbq places within a mile or so radius and all of them are completely mediocre or worse

cgrand -

They have a few lots in Timber Ridge in the pass that are still reasonable. The decent houses go quick.

Restaurants:

Burger - Sea Level shed in Pass Harbor
Seafood - Hook
Steak - Have yet to have one better than on my pit.
Off the Path - Long Beach Harbor and Deli - good Asian/Fusion (Korean BBQ Poboy, Banh Mi) - l
