Looking to take my girlfriend out on Thursday for her birthday. What's a good restaurant? Any restaurants that do anything special for birthdays?

Texas de Brazil does 2 for 1 for birthdays. Just sign her up for the birthday club.

If you plan on bringing your own cake, you might want to read this priceless thread.

Stay away from Jubans. Went about 2wks ago and there has to be better food in Baton Rouge. Server was good... Food was meh. For $170 I expected more than mushy sword fish covered in sauce that didn't make any sense. I didn't get the soft shell crab b/c I thought man... This can't be the only thing that this place does good. Swordfish was the special, figured it was fresh... Swordfish isn't mushy. Wife was disappointed as well.... And the wine list is terrible, actually not a list more of choose from a couple bottles of each type deal.
My first and last time.
Try mansurs much better...

The OP was mad because he brought in a birthday cake rather than ordering dessert and the restaurant wanted to charge $2.50 a person to serve it on their plates with their silverware with their waitstaff/dishwashers etc... and he thought it should all be free, basically. He put the cake back in his car. He figured if he spent a C-Note there, it was the least the restaurant could do. It's a gem.

If you haven't already, take a look at Nino's. It's a small intimate romantic restaurant. Delicious food. Pasta is made in house. Love the owners. If you don't go there, do put it on your list for a good date night, at the very least. I'd go there over Digiulio Bros in a heartbeat, particularly for a gf birthday. You can call ahead and when you make the reservation, tell them it's a gf birthday. You can even plan a meal for two of dishes of your choice if you like. They change up the menu sometimes and have specials. I highly recommend you considering it. From a woman's point of view, it's a good choice.

It's funny when you say it like that.
