Graves is a Member of Congress. I can see him footing the bill no problem, but state legislators make peanuts.

I don't see them going there to "hold court" unless its paid for by lobbyists and even then, as previously mentioned on this board, I see it being too high a price point to not raise Ethics Committee red flags.

He probably didn't go there "to hold court", he held court while he was there. He was there and became the center of attention. Networking. Everyone there knew him and made him the center of attention, taking advantage of the opportunity to speak to him. He sat there and they all came to him, so I'm told.

Its hard for people not aware of or acquainted to the real movers and shakers to understand what you mean. Damn wish I was there because I got some sure fire deals that guys like him could make happen, ya know.

Does this board really not understand the terms "movers and shakers" and "holding court"? Amazing.

I must not be important enough to understand your terminology.

I'm not going to argue with you, but I've always considered LL to be more of a mover...

I think she masquerades as a mover, dreams of one day shedding her unsteady ways, but at heart will always be a shaker.
