Going to Perry's Steakhouse for first time

To get the porkchop. Anybody been there or had this dish before? It looks heavenly.

Edit: I have to say the pork chop and the whole experience at Perry’s was top notch. Had a great time and the service was fantastic. Our waiter knew it was my birthday by checking ID for wine. Didn’t say a word, just brought desert with a candle on the plate free of charge.
Would recommend to anyone!

Pork chop is so good and it’s a ton of food. Don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Nice video of them carving it on the website. Man that looks good.

The sides are pretty good as well. Au gratin potatoes, mac & cheese, cream spinach. Great app is the fried asparagus w lump crab meat. If you are a wine drinker the Perry's Reserve Cab is worth a try.

I am all over the mac and cheese no matter where I go but this fried asparagus has my attention. Never had asparagus that way? How good is it?

Very good - large asparagus lightly paneed, nice big lumps of crab meat, and light butter sauce. You can get it as an app but we will get it as a side sometimes. Its one of their signature items. Highly recommend.
Perrys is not my first stop for steaks around Houston but the pork chop is definitely worth a visit.

This. But, I found their steaks to be just OK. Pork chop is absolutely worth it. And they recently built one in Grapevine.

That pork chop looks insanely good.

What’s crazy is you can get it for $15 for lunch on Fridays.
I didn’t want to heap too much praise on it at the risk of sounding too hyperbolic, but that pork chop is one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten.

The pork chop is delicious.
HOWEVER, the last few times the wife and I have gone, we’ve instead done severa sides/appetizers, which the Pork Chop Bites are always ordered. In fact, I think I like them better than the whole chop itself, as it’s like seasoned bites of tender meat candy.
I’ve found the crab cakes to be good as well, and the spicy margarita. We like to sit in the bar area and listen to the piano.

That pork chop is fantastic - best I've ever had.

The next day, I took that leftover chop portion out the fridge, sprinkled some rub, then put it in the oven, covered with foil, on only about 250 degrees and let it sit.
Then took it out, butter in a hot cast iron and seared the edges. Was absolutely delicious.

The pork chop was worth the trip, but the sides and the steaks were average IMO. It's also expensive.

It might be the best thing Texas has to offer

You already know your ordering the pork chop and not fricking around with any other dish, you've already won the night...enjoy

That's why you get the Friday lunch portion, which is not pricey.

That pork chop is better than any steak I have ever eaten and I have eaten a bunch of great steaks. You will not be able to or want to eat it all.

They had a lobster mac & cheese as a special when I went once, and I would have been just fine with is as my entree.
Both steaks I've had from there were fine, but not worth what they charge. Very under seasoned for how thick they were.
The pork chop is worth the hype, but is massive. Need to go some day for the Friday lunch portion.
