What are some great food/ snack places you recommend?

Can you narrow down your question? Does location, cost, attire or type of food matter?
For now, I'll suggest Peche. It has snacks, small plates and entrees. Fresh seafood there is terrific.

to be perfectly frank, you should have already made those decisions and already had reservations by now.
The better places are generally booked up at good times going into the weekend.
Peche is a great rec that I would second. Get the seafood platter, any of the raw preps, the tartare, etc.
After that, please be a bit more specific as the types of places you're looking for

Commanders Palace but you may not be able to get a reservation
I like Peche and get drinks at the Sazerac Bar after.
Go to Hotel Monteleone and sit at the carosusel bar.
I like Cooter Browns for bar food after the Zoo

I agree with you, Perfectly Frank.
Yes, I know that's lame, but I couldn't resist for some reason. I must have needed a laugh desperately.
ETA: I do seriously agree with you for many of the better restaurants. It's Memorial Day weekend, so restaurants may be awfully busy. I plan months ahead.
Maybe OP should go the Carousel Bar for before dinner drinks and then to Mr. B's. Might be able to get a reservation there. After dinner drinks at the Carousel, work as well.

The wait was over an hour a couple weeks ago. Maybe the new covid rules will cut down on that time since they are only allowing a handful of people at the bar itself.

Thread I did for a trip a while back. Gris Gris and Bunch were a big help in it too. These were mainly french quarter recs, but lots of good stuff in there for other parts as well.
Some of these you may be able to still get stuff for, I doubt Commander's will be available, but still worth giving them a call.

Sad my pictures on p.3 aren't working. That was a wonderful trip.

I'll just give you some of my favorite places:
Very Casual:
Parkway Poboys
Bevi Seafood
Blue Oak BBQ
Bayou Beer/Wine Garden
Clesi's
Blue Giant
Turkey and the Wolf
Cochon Butcher
Less Casual:
The Columns
Bacchanal Wine (at night)
Bouligny Tavern
Peche
Marjie's Grill (very casual dress but higher prices)
The Elysian Bar
Paladar 511
N7
Saba
On the Fancier side:
Brigstens
Compere Lapin
Coquette
August
R'evolution
Clancy's
Herbsaint
GW Fin's
Some of those places blend together a bit in terms of category but I did my best.

I have been wanting to go for awhile. I actually made reservations a little ways back but hand to cancel a few days before.
I do want to go though. I've heard great things.

I enjoyed it. Not the greatest location, but the place it nice. I would request being seated away from the tiny bathroom in the far back right corner.

I wouldn't even know where to get one. I think Killer Poboys does an alligator sausage one right?

Yeah I don’t thought I should put it in category 2 but was on the fence.
