Looks like Southwest has changed a stopover from one location to Chicago Midway airport. Layover is long enough to venture out down the street for deep dish pizza. Been a long time, any comments on what’s better to go to?

Lou’s is better but honestly Dominos has a better pan pizza than either of those if you want something heavy.

Vito’s and Nicks is real close to Midway. I’d go there before Lou’s and especially before giordanos

How much time you got? Seriously plan on at least at 30 minute wait after the order.

Prob not enough time to get up to Pequods and back.

I'd say Lou's. Sausage pieces on top.

Giordanos is better in my opinion. Deeper and heavier though I can’t eat more than a slice or two

I went to Lou malnattis in downtown before my flight back from the lambeau trip. There was someone in there getting frozen pizzas to fly back with which I thought was interesting. Something to look in to

Follow up pizza is permitted both check bag and carry on it is is “frozen enough”
^the girl in this story was probably being a huge botch to tsa and they felt like fricking with her. Most people probably bring a frozen pizza straight on the plane with no issues

Giordano's has locations all over now including Orlando and Vegas. Try Lou's if you have the time. Remember, it can take a while to make one.

Girodano's is in eight states. It's easier to find even if you aren't in Illinois.

Go with Lou, which I would choose over Giordano's, anyway.

I would pick Lou's

You can also place your order and they'll begin cooking it then they will call you to your table when its getting clode to being done. Better than waiting 30-45 min for it to cook

You used to be able to order them online and they'd send you a frozen one. I'm sure you still can, but I haven't checked in a while. It was 5 or 6 years ago my buddy from Chicago ordered a bunch for a Super Bowl party. Guess it was the year the Bears were in the Super Bowl.

And yes, Lou's is way better than Giordanos.

Lou's > Giordano's

I want to try Pequod's next time I'm in Chicago.

In terms of deep dish / pan, these are the three “popular” places to go, but Art of Pizza on Ashland (Lakeview) is better than Giordano’s and Lou, in my opinion.

ETA: OP, sounds like you are set on deep dish / pan. If not, though, I highly-recommend Phil’s Pizza or Vito & Nick’s.

Two places mentioned are probably a 5 min uber from the airport. Only pain would be going back through TSA

Still have fond memories of Lou's butter crust
