If I were in New Orleans right now, I'd be going there. The photos on Facebook look mighty tasty.

Have you never had fish amandine or soft shell crab amandine? Have you ever heard of it?

I sometimes top crabmeat au gratin with them, as well.

Had trout amandine at home a few weeks ago. So good. Now, I want it again.

They're common dishes in New Orleans. I wouldn't call them "fancy". Try it sometime. You might be surprised.

Roasted pecans on fish and soft shell crab are quite good as well. Pecan crusted fish dishes are very good.

Trout almondine is an extremely common dish in New Orleans at a lot of mid-tier restaurants.

You probably won't see it at lot of the really fancy restaurants any more (although you would in years past).

I love almondine.

You should try it one day? It's slivers of almonds usually and I think they cook it a little. It just adds a little something extra to the dish.

I like to get the trout almandine at Mr Ed’s.

Last time I had it, the fish was larger than the plate.

And it was less than $20.

Could I get that with crab meat on top too? I'm totally serious.

Plus, their regular standbys are always spot on: rabbit, duck or the gumbo. FYI - would avoid for the next 2 seeks until the JF crush has subsided.

And, another special from Gabrielle with an odd statement.

Widepread panic is playing today at jazz fest

So the name of the dish is a clear play on words they wont keep past this weekend I would imagine
