I've lost 7 pounds since the recall began. The struggle is real gentlemen.

Ha, I think I'd rather be fat and happy than to know I can't go to any grocery or convenience store and get my Blue Bell cookies and cream.

Häagen-Dazs is delicious and they put a sell by date on their product. Screw those arrogant people at Blue Bell for knowing about the problem but doing nothing until deaths are involved. I hope they never recover from this.

Go ahead and eat your foreign owned overrated ice cream. That crap is overpriced and is not better than Blue Bell and on top of that you can get a true half gallon of Blue Bell for the price of that pint of foreign owned crap.

I am amazed at the love for the mediocrity that is bluebell. But I like learning new things....but I guess people love McDonald's too.

In thread about Blue Bell.

Calls other brands of ice cream "overrated."

My friend, if any brand could be the archetype of overrated, it would be Blue Bell.

Apparently he doesn't give a shite about his cousin either.

And Haggen Daz was started in New York City.

I had no idea that Häagen-Dazs is "crap".

From now on, I'll only eat the ice cream that OU812 and his out of work cousin recommend.

Winn Dixie kept it on the shelves for a while but finally pulled it. I tried a few othwr brands, including Prestige and Breyers, but both were too soft and creamy. Haagen Dazs is good but they don't have half gallons there. This week Mayfield popped up, which I've never seen before. They were buy one, get one free, so I grabbed a couple. Their French Vanilla is freaking delicious and makes the best chocolate shakes (with Brown's chocolate milk). I'd pick it over BB even when it is back in the store. Hope they keep Mayfield around. Also tried Butter Rum, and I never really buy that kind of stuff. Digured I'd give it a try with my freebie. Good stuff. And they had 4 different types of Vanilla. Can't see anything better than the French Vanilla though.

BB is letting 3,000 staff go. Only 3,900 work there. Many of the remaining 900 are getting pay cuts that will mean more proxy layoffs. It does appear to be a systemic issue at their plants.

They'll be back but not for a while. And not with the same distribution. They are an institution, in Texas anyway, and the public's attention span is a fraction of what it used to be.

Yeah, they'll come back on a much smaller scale, obviously. How does the Blue Bell president still have his job after knowing what we know now?

I'm eating Baskins Robbins Creme Brûlée now and couldn't care less about Blue Bell.

I do wish I could still get a box of K&B chocolate though.

Per Wiki

"established by Reuben and Rose Mattus in the Bronx, New York, in 1961"

"Mattus invented the "Danish-sounding" "Häagen-Dazs" as a tribute to Denmark's exemplary treatment of its Jews during the Second World War"

It's not bad ice cream but absurdly over priced.

Of the reasonably priced brands there are none that come close to Blue Bell IMO.

You didn't have to Wiki. I already told you where it came from.

And FWIW I'm not sure where everyone is buying ice cream but Bleu Bell and Haagen Daz is roughly the same price when I see it.

And I'm having bananas foster from Baskin Robbins right now.

Man, I don't even eat much ice cream let alone theirs. I hope their CEO/Upper management get canned. I heard on the radio they're issuing some 1500 layoffs and 1400 furloughs. I feel bad for all the employees losing jobs because they work for incompetent morons.
