Just wanted to give a quick review...anyone else had it?

I ordered the Two Meat plate....Got Brisket and Pork Belly...both were delicious but the Brisket was exceptional...and that's how I generally judge a BBQ joint.

Wings for appetizer were also delicious..

Been there for dinner once and was good. If you dont want to wait a lifetime for your food dont order the mac and cheese.

I've been there two or three times. Really, really liked the ribs and brisket.

I've been twice. First time got the pork belly poppers. Amazing. Also got the jalepeno mac and cheese. Two meat plate, ribs and brisket. Both were very good.

Second time I went I got the chicken sandwich. Pretty solid.

I was going to say duck but I am pleasantly surprised at the comments.

Only bad meal I had there was the day after Hogs but I should have known better than go that day.

Brisket, ribs, wings, beef ribs, sides, all good.

Not a huge fan. Their wings with Alabama white are pretty good though. Cool bar

Has the service improved?

The wait time was excruciating the first few times we went and the waitstaff wasn't knowledgeable about the menu.

The BBQ Cuban Sandwich is really good. Fresh cut fries too. Nice beer list. I like Blue Oak better but Frey is a good addition to the hood.

Like: brisket, ribs, pork belly poppers, wings (buffalo and dip with the white sauce at the table)

Disklike: low carb sides - sprouts and cabbage both very weak.

Haven't tried any burgers/sandwiches/shakes

The shakes are insane. Huge homemade milkshakes. Probably 5,000+ cals.

indeed it is, but if you buy a plate, it comes with 2 sides. Their low carb side options are bad. Not even close to blue oak's sprouts (which have a little honey but still low carb compared to other side options)

I'll stick to wings or meats by the pound for now when I visit Frey

I give Blue Oak the edge but Frey is solid. That white BBQ sauce on their brisket is top notch.

Frey's serves very good BBQ. Have now had the brisket, ribs, pork belly, and fried chicken, all very solid.

Their biscuits are incredible.

I do think that the joint and blue oak are slightly better w/ their seasoning but freys has better sauces and Frey's has a much better beer and whiskey selection.

Their shakes are outstanding if you need a sugar rush.

Chef Ray Gruezke never fails to impress. He also owns Rue 127 around the corner which gets very high praise.
