youre knighting pretty hard in here for a place with shitty pizza and an even shittier owner

They’ve been doing what they do at FDL for 70 years or so. On their own property, with their own recipes and their own attitude. Just because some lovers of skunky beer can’t find a place to park does not matter one bit to them. Uber or carpool to get your tacos and your IPA’s and ignore FDL. They don’t owe you anything, and you don’t need them (except for their ample parking).

Does Pokie ever go there any more? The last few times I was in there, he wasn't there. I just kind of assumed age or health caught up to him.

That said, he sho is gruff, but his sandwiches are dammed good.

Not enough movers and/or shakers in there…

I’m sure you’ll be greatly missed by the owners and the customers.
But I promise they’ll save you a parking spot in case you change your mind.

Tell me you’ve never actually been to Cypress Coast without telling me you’ve never been to Cypress Coast

They generally have about 10 beers on tap, and I’ve never seen more than 2-3 be IPAs at any given time.

Never had this pizza before.

But can’t argue against this. Lots of folks pissed off about not being able to someone else’s parking.

So because it’s large, she should allow the general public to park on her property?

Is this code for unwillingness to pay market value?

I think the previous poster made a great point. If you care so much about parking that you’ll pay off duty cops to patrol rather than pay employees to produce and sell your product you are either a poor businessperson or just a miserable person who hates what you do. I have been there on occasion (for lunch) and liked it for what it was. That said, their terrible attitude wasn’t the put-off that they obviously intended but instead a comic relief for our table. When you laugh at someone being a bitch it neuters them quick

Everyone is assuming they aren’t paying employees, nobody knows.

And I’m sure an off duty police officer is there mainly for safety and parking lot duty is just a byproduct.

When your business model is f these f’n customers then it’s immediately a miserable place to work. Not a ray of sunshine in that entire place, sad really

If you can’t staff your restaurant, you aren’t paying enough

Considering she’s known for cutting patrons off at 2 beers, she will kick you out if she overhears you say a curse word, she’s cash or check only, and she treats her staff like human garbage.. yeah the parking thing deserves context. Obviously, a kind a reasonable business owner not wanting to share parking is understandable.

An old crotchety bitch harassing people who bought several pizzas at her window and chose to eat them next door on a picnic table with a beer is going to get slammed.

We went there once 10 years ago and the frosted glass wall we sat next so was piled with mildewed towels from the leaks when it rains. Super appetizing.

Obviously, they should have researched that matter before they acquired their inadequate properties.

It’s pretty common for breweries to open up next existing businesses, form a friendship/partnership, and flourish together. Brewery even keeps menus off the next door restaurants at tables for patrons to order from.

How anyone can stand there and defend a bitch move like that is beyond me.

My hatred for FDL goes back way further than Cypress Coast and that can be proven on this very board.

The moldy towels and kicking out/cutting off patrons is reason #1, but the real reason is that my childhood best friend worked there and a regular customer started coming every day and asking her out. When she said no, he got more aggressive and she told the owner she doesn’t want to serve him anymore. Owner told her absolutely not because he’s a paying regular. He waited until they closed followed her to her car after work one night. Owner still refused to ban him, so my friend quit.

Maybe the businesses across the street that opened in cheap buildings with inadequate parking should offer to pay a healthy contract to Fleur de Lis for overflow parking. They might be able to come up with a solution if they’re willing to pay for what they need to serve their customers.

Or better yet, FDL can install an automated parking kiosk to raise funds to help pay for more staff.
