Huh?
My post that he responded to was about Whataburger's food being very similar to FG to me.
A meal at Whataburger is probably $7-$8. OP paid $14.75 at FG. That is double.

I think he was just going on burger price not meal price. You know, based on him only discussing the burger.
The fries are pricy but could feed a small army which should be considered. The op acted like he's getting shorted by not having bottomless, which is amusing. Could have easily framed it as "I split them and saved a few bucks."

I know what he meant but it was in response to what I meant which is not what he meant.
Get it? ;)
Get it? ;)

They need a damn combo meal already

So you seem more fired up about the cost of fries/soda if you think the meal is double the reasonable price but the burger isn't.... No?

You folks who are Five Guys regulars are as ignorant and helpless as the cows you are eating.

I mean, the bacon cheeseburger by itself on the online ordering that I have pulled up is $8.49 after tax.. so it is still double the price of a bacon cheeseburger also by itself at Whataburger.
I don't really understand what you're trying to prove. A burger, fries, and drink at FG is double the price of a burger, fries, and drink at Whataburger but not double the quality IMO. On the other hand, there are places that really are far beyond Whataburger in quality that are the same (and some even less) price as FG. As I said earlier, the bacon cheeseburger WITH fries or o-rings at Masons is much better than FG and it is the same price as a burger WITHOUT fries at FG.
Don't take it the wrong way, but you are jumping into a response to another person based off of what they asked/said and making it about something totally different.

Went to Drusilla Seafood for lunch. Stuffed Flounder, with crabmeat and a creamy caper sauce, roasted red potatoes a salad and free hush puppies was $17 after tax (I had water). Almost spending that on a burger in a place like 5 guys is a ripoff.
I'll bet you a children's Five Guys that wasn't flounder.
And I get the hot dog at Five Guys and really don't see the big complaint. Go eat that 19 dollar burger at Table-then complain. (to the op) If I have to compare a dollar or so for a burger I need another night job.

No offense taken. My point was the guy got a double bacon cheeseburger with unlimited toppings for 7.89 - the most premium option offered (no need to look online for menus, his receipt is posted) but his fries and drink cost almost $6 before tax
I'm not some 5 guys fanatic- only been 2-3 times and no particular plans to go back But as I tend to grab a water and split fries I don't feel like I had sticker shock.
Normal burger and half order of fries with a water and I'm walking out right about $10 which is fine.

This is the way to do it. My girlfriend and I get singles and split a regular fries, and that's still too much food.

Five Guys is shite. Flavorless, fried meat, usually burned on the edges. The taste from the tomato actually overpowers the bland meat. American cheese food? Give me a break.

It's about $8.97 (Texas prices) before tax so $8.97 vs. $13.71. Not really double, but your point is valid.
Louisiana prices make it $10.37 vs. $8.29. Crazy how different they are.
I thought you were just talking about burger prices. The double cheeseburger at Whataburger is $4.36 and $5.09 at Five Guys (Louisiana prices).

Never buy drinks at restaurants. Usually it's the biggest markup item percentage wise on the menu.

seemed clear to me what you were getting at.... less than a dollar gap on the burger
Id bet a normal soft drink is about a dollar gap on a much cheaper item, and the fries probably closer to $2 gap again on side item (if you are ordering fries just for yourself at 5 guys).
the burger doesnt blow up the bill in this discussion as much as the add ons.

I thought it was a little expensive for a burger, fries, and a drink but it was pretty decent. There's just better local burger options where I live so I probably won't be back. It was definitely more than enough food though.

i dont doubt that..the amount of fries in that bag alone could give a rhinoceros diabetes.
i did the same thing about 3-4 years ago on here..bought my son a burger, fries and coke and it was $12 and i flipped my shite. posted the receipt on here too
i think thats way too much for lunch.
i personally like a juicy patty with a little pink in the middle..not a hockey puck.
i love they have gigantic bags of potatoes as decoration. too bad the way they fry them makes them taste like decoration too.
eta fuddruckers burgers for the MFW!
