I can, and I will. A kids' sized item will always be labelled as such.

Look at the menu for Mooyah, which is pretty much a direct rip-off of Five Guys (or vice versa, I don't know or care).

Their menu clearly says, "Mooyah Burger", "Double Burger", and then there is an entire section for kids' meals. They aren't a bunch of different burgers.. but you're really expecting people to go into deep thought while standing in line for a burger if you expect people to notice that the Little Burger menu looks "fishy" for a kids' menu.

Like NOFOX said, it is bullshite.. but they probably make a killing from people whose brain says, "Little? I definitely don't want a tiny kids burger". It is smart on their part for sure.

The key to 5 guys is to get the little cheeseburger. I normally will only go if I am going with someone to split the ginormous amount of fries they give you. Going by yourself is going to be pricey especially if you get the big bacon cheeseburger.

If you don't see kid's in the name, why on Earth would you automatically assume something is a kid's item? Further, why would you (OP, not you necessarily) assume the most expensive item on the menu is the standard size?

IF you're ignorant enough for that to be your thought process, that sucks for you.

Well, it wasn't "just a burger." And you're leaving out the tip and drinking water instead of something with an actual taste (inb4fatjoke).

Mason's.. one of the top burgers in the city.

$8.75 for burger and fries or onion rings. $2 for drink. Even with a $4 tip, you're just now reaching the Five Guys price.

I got nothing against FG taste, but it tastes exactly like Sonic or Whataburger IMO.. which I don't hate either one. But I don't pay $14 for them either

Why would anyone lacking prior knowledge assume it isn't? The nomenclature suggests it is standard.

It tastes nothing like Sonic. Can't speak for Whataburger, I only have had the honey butter chicken biscuit there.

Are you serious? You're going to tell me that most place's most expensive item is the standard sized item?

Have you never seen one of the million restaurant trying to be "trendy" or have a really corny theme?

Outback has a Kangaroo menu.. which somehow means kids.

It isn't exactly out of the realm of possibility that a restaurant you've never been to, that (to you knowledge) pretty much only sells burgers, would call their kid burgers "little burgers".

I'm not blaming you for thinking the double was actually a single. Thats understandable. Places are annoying like that.

What I'm trying to tell you is that you have no reason to complain at the price, when the prices were right in front of your face. If its too expensive for what you are willing to spend, buy less. Your bill could have been $12 with a water, $10 if you split the fries with a coworker, under $10 if you can do without bacon.

Sure, with bacon and cheese. It's not mandated that a business has to have a super sized option.

I would actually prefer Whataburger and save the money if we had one in Tuscaloosa. I usually grab it when I am in Mobile or Pensacola.

It is the only thing they sell. It is no different than when Canes (back when sizing was not a complete rip off) called their normal sized meal a "snack box" to encourage people to order the 'standard' meal, which ended up being a ton of food.

Doing a quick Google search, I've found 5 Yelp reviews from people making the same Five Guys mistake. This isn't rocket science here. People are PAID to make menus this way on purpose

Is it even included with the normal menu? I'm not seeing it on any pics of outback menu's.

Sure it's possible, but highly unlikely. Especially considering the price that the little sells for compared to the big.

What? The snack is smaller for people who want less. Not surprisingly, they also have a clearly defined kid's meal.

Oh, well if 5 other dumbasses exist, it clearly is an issue.

It's a Kid's Menu, brah. Pretty sure they give it to kids when they walk in, plus some crayons. I think it has mazes and stuff.

It is a completely different type of burger and they don't taste much alike. I find Sonic and Whataburger comparable to each other, but 5 guys is two 3+ oz 80/20 chuck patties griddled similar to Shake Shack, Smashburger, and In-N-out. You can easily taste the difference in the quality of meat.

I am not a fan of FG and don't care, one way or the other, but their product is a far better burger than Sonic or Whataburger.

I think it is too high for the experience, so I rarely go....but it is a better burger than the ones you listed.
