Five Guys is definitely not cheap. But it is an objective step up in quality and consistency from the typical fast food places.

but its a step down from your local "gourmet" burger place and probably only a few dollars cheaper, if cheaper at all

that is the reason why I never go to Five Guys

It was $30 and didn’t have the shake or the taxes.. That’s basically $40.

It did have a drink though. The last Five Guys thread the guy claimed prices that were higher than NYC or Bay Area locations. For some reason this specific chain brings out all the liars.

That price did also have tax included BTW

That's fine too. It serves a purpose. Like if you're travelling and wand something better than McDonalds but don't want to deal with researching local better options.

I got a fricking burger and fries and drank it with a bottle of Ozarka. Where is this huge quantity of food you’re talking about. A 14 year old got a burger and a hotdog. Are you people that big of poons?

Yes they are. They do this every time. They act as if normal people divide food based upon calories

A few of them jumped me because the fries could feed more than two people. Me explaining that there was no option to buy fewer fries did nothing to these people. I swear, the craziest posters on this entire site are on the food board.

$8.59 plus tax at the one by my office. A little cheeseburger is 6.59 plus tax. The other location a few miles from me is even more

Well against my better judgment I went ahead and made the effort to counter Lnchbox’s assertion that I was a liar. Maybe he’ll own up to it and issue an apology. But I doubt it. This is the West Monroe location we got our food from. Apparently it doesn’t let you pre-order chocolate malts, but I can assure you it was a $5+ malt which put our total at $39ish dollars. Which is $40 where I come from

read through this thread....jesus no wonder we have an obesity problem in this country.

but I do enjoy a good bacon double burger, sometimes even 2 when i am having a cingle cheat meal.

So i understand both sides.

and yes five guys is expensive for what it is and what you get.

I see You added stuff to the hot dog. Glad I'm still on your mind several hours later

I'msorry for doubting your food cost so much. Every other thread about 5 guys has people exaggerating.

I understand the whole "no one wants to count calories before eating their food", etc, etc, etc. But you have to actually quantify price per calories if you want to compare price to price.

In New Orleans a double bacon & cheese quarter pounder with large fries and large coke from Mcdonalds is $13.28 and 1660 calories. Price per 1k calories = $8.

For Five Guys, a double bacon & cheese burger, with fries, and a coke is $19.41 but 2250 calories. Price per 1k calories = $8.62

So it's more expensive by $0.62 per thousand calories for similar food.

Take that for what it's worth. Personally I don't want to spend $20 for fast food but it is what it is.

ETA: corrected burger calories at five guys

And there you have it. I appreciate you conceding defeat and admitting to your wrongness. Now go lose an argument elsewhere.

Yep. It’s the ones counting calories. They’re either fat or have such bad genes they’d be fat without severely restricting their diet.
