Did the Five Guys on Highland by LSU close? I just ate there about a week or two ago and it was open, but I drove by earlier today and the sign was gone and all the windows were papered up. I'll admit it was completely dead in there this last time I went, but I assumed that was to be expected b/c LSU is out of session. Didn't know it was closing up permanently.

Dang, I'm surprised it was dead or that it may have closed. I feel like that and Chipotle always look packed when I'm in the area.

It's interesting how businesses in that area seem to have so many issues staying open. You'd think there would be enough foot traffic during for it. I certainly don't remember it being dead over there back when I was at LSU.

I would have gone there 5x more often if I could park. Only time I went was during summer or on holiday weeks when I had a chance to park. You just never knew. Pulled in a few times and couldn’t park so went elsewhere.

Yep it closed down. Lack of parking killed or imo.

Five Guys, Chipotle, highland coffee, city slice all share one lot. Ingas and subway survive because they have parking lots

You used to be able to get the burger a lot cheaper by ordering a grilled cheese and adding a patty to it.

The fries are amazing too, but I don’t want to order a family sized order… let me pay for a normal arse size

Obviously it closed because all the movers and shakers moved to a new establishment.

I forget the name (Riverside?), but the towing company in that area is an absolute economic killer. You should be able to park on the side streets and walk to any of those businesses at any time.

Riverside Towed me from one of those lots years ago when I worked at a bar right there. I was livid and I still hate Riverside to the core, but the lady there made a good point. Riverside didn't just show up one day and start towing cars from parking lots. Businesses that own the parking lots hired them.

Unfortunately, the proximity to campus and the fact that student commuter parking is really far away meant the parking all throughout the north gates was filled with students parking for school, so they had no choice but to hire tow companies.

It is still allowable to parallel park on Highland, W. Chimes, etc. There just isn't often spots available.

Riverside towed me from the 3rd floor of my daughters apartment garage. Used her clicker to get in and unloaded a Walmart run, gave her a hug and walked out to where my car was. 5 to 6 minutes tops. Saw the tow truck by Louies and beat them to the Riverside lot. Still had to pay a day's storage fee.
