same.
to limit yourself to local music, anywhere, is a sin.
sub in "live" for "local" and i agree.

I don't understand the negative comments...FQF is head and shoulders above any other event or festival (even jazz fest) in terms of accessibility, quality and price.

some people dont have friends and dont like to have fun
and it seems to some that it sucks to wait 2 minutes in a line to get some good food

Lines at FQF and JF are usually no more than five minutes. That said, five minutes on a hot JF afternoon can seem like 30.

You just gotta be selective in what you choose to go for, and you can always be guaranteed a place at the counter.
Luckily, Crawfish Monica does absolutely nothing for me.

exactly
like I said, i have to question if the guy has been to either.
as for FQF food, its obviously not a kitchen in a restaurant, but a lot of the booths cook the food there. your food is almost always guaranteed to be hot and somewhat fresh

man, i already said it's a good time, a good day trip, good music, etc.

You guys are really strange with your internet message board games. Tell me about how all of the jazzfest acts are local? Sure a nice restaurant meal is better, but it is good to sometimes just hang out and grab small plates in perfect weather.
I just got back from the french quarter fest and I have to say it was perfect. Yes later in the day and later this weekend it will be crowded, but this weather and this crowd was beyond words.
I met people from 8 different states while waiting for the little parade on Bourbon. I had crawfish and goat cheese crepes from Muriels, shrimp and eggplant stuffing, and other odd stuff from other tents. Not a damn thing cost over $5 and there was never more than 2 people in line in front of me. It is a festival. Get out and meet people and try different stuff.
Also loved the fact that Abita was the excsluvide beer provider. There will probably be 10,000 bud/miller/coors drinkers that will be forced to try something new this weekend.

what are you rambling about? my (and Brock's) statement, was in response to Solo's post. It has nothing to do with Jazzfest.

oh, i just happened to reply to your post...but went ahead and headed off the hater comments that are already pouring in. Wasn't pointed directly at you, my bad.
