High Life's stolen from the back of a truck at the deer camp. We ran into the woods like we'd been shot out of a cannon.Switched to ponys by 14 ...a long, crooked, broken,,,and fun as hell trail of tears since then...

Pearl. "From the country of eleven hundred springs." I was told that Miller Brewing makes a limited amount in Ft. Worth,Texas at this time. As a young lad I moved on to Jax, Falstaff, Lone Star, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and the "premium" Schlitz. For a certain period of time the only beers available to me were Budweiser and Carling Black Label. Later I drank enough Coors while out west to cause a minor hop shortage but it was unavailable in Louisiana at that time so I started drinking bourbon and still do. A few years ago I discovered some microbrews that I enjoy and look forward to try what Beauxregard features.

Dixie when I was very young my dad would let me have sips. The first beer I ever drank on my own was Miller ponies, had an 8 pack and was wasted, 13 years old.

When I was a kid my parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles would send us in to the house to get beer out of the fridge when we had a fish fry or crawfish boil. It was usually PBR or Dixie or Miller ponys and we would have to open it with a bottle opener in the house. By the time we got it to them we would have drunk about half of it.

Schaefer Light....fishing with grandpa in Bayou Pigeon...I ran out of Sunkist and the sac-a-lait were biting, plus I needed a beer with all those candied cigarettes I was choking down. Guess I was about 10 or 11 years old. I didn't realize until I was older that grandpa was drinking a case of beer every time we went fishing and thats why he always let me drive home.

LOL! That sounds alot like my story. My grandma, as I mentioned earlier, was usually the one giving us sips of the ponies, but grandpa had no problem doing it on fishing trips. He lived in Bayou Sorrel his whole retired life and became an all out drunk for a while. We got him treated at around 70 years old and the next 20 years were sober for him.

My dad would always give me nips of whatever he was drinking - since about 4 yrs old, but the first beer I "snuck" and drank on my own was an Old Milwaukee shared with three friends. I can still taste it.
