Maybe I've been the most lucky SOB on the face of the earth, but I've never found 5 Guys to be any greasier than any other burger and fries joint. I think people see the oil spot more obviously on the brown paper. It's just a solid, fresh cooked hamburger and mountain of fresh fries. 80% of the time my fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My wife and I can stuff ourselves silly and be out for under $20.

I have a pretty low tolerance for fried foods (onion rings for instance are a no-go for me), but I've never had issues at 5G. To each his own, but the OP post was so over the top it had to be a troll attempt.

It's funny you say Wendy's because I find their burgers to actually be too greasy. They don't make me vomit though

Hell if I know--haven't had a Wendy's burger in a looooong time. But I got some chicken sandwich meal there a while back and it was almost $10. That is absurd for fast food. A sandwich/burger and fries at Chimes and similar places is the same price and way better.

That's crazy. You can eat at Olive Garden cheaper.

This thread is ridiculous

Is it the best burger in the world at 5guys? No, but to act like it is so disgusting that you will spew before finishing your meal is a joke. IMHO, it's the only thing that's really wrong with this board.

Do yourself a favor and keep it that way.

Yea, some of the prices of these things is getting out of hand. My usual fast food choices top out around $7, unless it's 5 guys

I hope your reply was not to me for a reason. I already said OP was dramatic.

But I don't think it's dramatic to not like Five Guys or refuse to go there out of principle ($10 for a "little" burger and small fries and drink).

I tend to do dollar menu if I do fast food. Just pick a few items from it and get a drink.

I like the regular hamburgers at McDonalds (just the little ones like in a happy meal), so I order the meal that comes with 2 and fries and a drink-- its $5 at the location I frequent.

I can get a bacon cheese burger, fries, and a drink for under $6 after tax from In-N-Out?

Can't be much more than that. Double-cheeseburger and fries for around $5 last I went.

I'm actually quite impressed with the complexity of people's palettes in this thread.

I agree with the article. Also, the pic they have in the article looks like NOTHING I've ever seen come from a five guys.

PROS:

HUGE double burger, decent taste, a crapload of fries (and that was a small fries)

How is this a PRO? If anything, add this to your list of CONS. Because the burger is "HUGE" and you get a "crapload" of fries for $12, the only way to justify paying that much for a burger and fries is to try to eat it all, thus consuming about 1500-2000 calories in one sitting. Congrats.
