What an idiot.

New Orleans has the largest coffee roaster in the country that makes everything from small batch roasts to Starbucks to Folgers crap.

Ain't about the plant, but about the spec they have to be held to.

From a former Folgers worker...We loved running the hotel coffee. Didn't have to check for weight of grind. They don't care what it comes out like because they aren't trying to earn repeat customers over the coffee.

Brother I can not imagine the day I will care what kind of butter the wife buys or if it cost $1 more but you do you.

I prefer to make my own and still do so from time to time, dump a 1/2 pint of heavy whipping cream in the stand mixer and turn it on, after 5 min dump off the remaining liquid and salt and add a bit of honey and turn back on for a min or so.

Heaven on a biscuit just like granny made it and I DNGAF what it cost.

I remember a few years back when Peter pan has their recall... The empty spots on the walmart shelf was Peter Pan and Great Value.

Kerrygold is $10.99 for 2 pounds at Costco and that's pretty much all I buy.

Many products today, ranging from shampoo to food to AmazonBasics, are private label products. Private label products are manufactured by one company for sale under another company’s brand.

One factory may crank out several "brands" of green beans under different labels. Sames for socks, USB cables, etc.

Trader Joe's, Target, Wal-Mart, etc. are full of private label products. They are often identical to brand name products, but they may be made to a particular spec to cut costs.

You likely can't tell if two products are identical just by looking at the label, even if it says they came from the same factory.

Hold off on that car wash! Not so fast my friend!
Just because they come from the same facility does not make the the same. Blue Bell ice cream was being "processed" in a Bordens plant for a while. I knew the production supervisor who told me the recipes were very different and if Bordens used Blue Bell ingredients they wouldn't make any profit. Lots of plants make products for other companies, BBQ sauce is made in several different recipes at the same plant.

In a previous job, I toured the Domino sugar refinery in Chalmette. We walked through the entire barge to bag process and at the end there were two bags being filled off the same supply - Domino and Great Value.

Identical products. Different brands.

Imagine thinking that people built great big factories that were only capable of producing one single product

Just means they were made in the same plant. Doesnt mean they are the exact same butter.

Anyone ever seen the Bizarre Foods episode where Andrew dug up that butter that was hundreds of years old? Pretty cool.

I would take some of that delicious butter this plant is producing and have these chicks wear a shirt called Assland and immediately be fired for sexual harassment and fondling while on company time.

The generic bread is also made by the same companies that do the name brand. It is the same stuff just less weight. You can feel the difference in weight when you compare the two.

This is normal for all store brand items. Most of the manufacturing plants can't sell enough product to run their lines all day, so they sell the time to these private label brands. For example, Hunt's tomatoes does a large portion of Walmart/Kroger brand canned tomatoes. They just change the recipe a little bit to save some bucks, but mostly it's almost the same thing.
