That fried chicken from 2 days ago in the fridge or those fried fish fillets in your leftover box from last night will taste better than ever.

It really doesn’t have many limitations on what to cook. I’ve cooked most of the things mentioned in this thread in mine, and I’ve yet to be disappointed.
Space is a bit of an issue when cooking multiple things. I need to look into creating at least two levels within the fryer as a previous poster mentioned.

steaks come out really good. 7 minutes per side.

At what temp? Medium rare?

Surprisingly so. If thick, I do mine at about 5 minutes a side at like max temperature and instaread thermometer it flipping on each read. One thing most folks seem to not do is preheat the air fryer - makes all the difference especially if trying to get any semblance of sear.

I always preheat for 2-3 minutes. Are you suggesting that you should or shouldn’t with steaks.

room temp. 1" steaks. usually comes out medium 7 on each side. bigger steaks, medium rare.
room temp is important.

Lot's of things are good in it. Slice up some sweet potatoes to make fries. Throw in some frozen onion rings, or samosas, or Jamaican meat pies. It does chicken and fish well too.

I like to put them in the microwave for a minute or so before crisping them in the air fryer to ensure the middle isn't a popsicle.
How about just letting the corn dogs thaw out first?

I cooked steaks and sausage in the air fryer the other day- it was too damn hot to grill. Overcooked the flank, but it was still tender and delicious. Sausage skin got very crispy, but not charred.
ETA: I use my air fryer all summer long instead of the oven. I bought a Le Creuset ceramic baking dish that fits perfectly in it, and holds 3 big chicken breasts or 6-8 thighs. It’s great for roasting veggies. Mine bakes, broils, air fries and toasts, so I was able to get rid of our other toaster, freeing up space on the counter. It does cook faster than the big oven, so it does take some adjusting. Casseroles get a wonderfully crisp cheese crust in the air fryer.
Kids love it for frozen pizzas, chicken nuggets, fries, pizza rolls, etc.

Yep. I never boxed up fries or onion rings or fried mozz. Now I always do. The air fryer makes them like new.

is it really frying if there's no oil involved?
Posted on 7/21/22 at 9:19 am to MorbidTheClown
I'm going with no.
It's a convection oven.
