Honestly, I find Commotion holds up a LOT better than majority of APAs and definitely better than almost all IPAs. I had 3 month old Commotion that tastes great--sure it may have gotten a tad more malty but still very drinkable. Unless I'm going to hold on to it for a while, I don't think there would be a grave difference between a 12/30 batch and 1/14.

It reminds me of SN pale ale in that regard. Much better fresh but still drinkable after 2 months. Luckily I haven't been seeing much that old anymore.

To be honest I bet if I tried them side by side I couldn't tell the difference in taste...

my guess would be the nose is the only thing. The first time I opening week ago commotion that thing hit me from a mile away.
