I'm telling the manager I'm so glad they finally have an IPA on tap here.

Damn. Belmont Station is having a puckerfest this week. Yesterday was a Cascade tap takeover. Tomorrow is out of state beers - Crooked Stave, Russian River, Firestone Walker, etc... Saturday is a dual tap-takeover with Block 15 and De Garde. I can't make it either day. One of you guys is going to have to step up and go in my place...

First world problems...

Beer Advocate

Beer Advocate released something that list breweries in each state that have a 90+ BA score. Louisiana has 2 that apparently made the list.

NOLA and Old Rail?

I just taught all morning and crunched data for the past 6 hours. I think I'm skipping beer and going straight to bourbon. My head hurts.

I suspect Parish and Great Raft don't have enough votes, yet. I also think these places get rated as a destination, not just for their beers, so if a place has no food or atmosphere, their rating will be low.

Oregon had a few on that list that made me scratch my head, too.

Some places, like Basecamp Brewing would not be on that list if it were just about their beer. However, Base Camp made it just for the coolness that is Base Camp Brewing. Others are just total head scratchers...

Someone on Reddit made a map of all the breweries on the list and GR was on there

No Parish...

Since it's the only IPA they have, and it's $3
I'm going to try and float this half keg....

They do take into account destination, but when you are rating if the place doesn't offer food they take that variable out. At least that is what it says they do

Looking at BA now...

Great Raft 97 with 3 ratings 4.06/5 on beer
Nola 94 with 11 ratings on place 3.8/5 on beer
Old Rail 95 with 14 ratings on place 3.94/5 on beer
Parish and Courtyard have no place ratings and 3.88/5 for beer on Parish and 3.95/5 for Courtyard.

Between bottle openers and magnets I'm not sure which I brought more back of.
