Best waiter ever!

Beer Advocate

Beer Advocate released something that list breweries in each state that have a 90+ BA score. Louisiana has 2 that apparently made the list.

Had a similar experience at The J Clyde in Birmingham, but it was more tactful. A girl tried to order a Bud Light, and the bartender stated that they didn't serve AB products there. He poured her an Avery White Devil and she enjoyed it a lot.

I do sort of think its a little pretentious of places that serve beer not to have some sort of BMC light product. No need to laugh at them and make them feel like idiots.

Any recs on a place to get an early beverage on Sunday before the Astros game? Its for 1 so I was thinking on getting there between 10-11. I am think the MKT bar inside Phoenicia might be a good choice for some brunch and beers, maybe a mimosa.

They pride themselves on using nothing but locally farm grown and raised products. I wouldn't expect anything different in their drink options. If I remember the last time we went the only wines they had were from a place in Kemah.

Yes, MKT bar is a solid option. I went to Luckys pub yesterday for a work function and they had a really solid beer lineup. Food was okay too.

Hearsay has a really good brunch, but not much on the beer side. Great cocktails though.

I don't think that's what they are doing. I think BMC has been trying to suppress craft beer for so long, that places that make their living on craft beer are fighting back by not supporting their products. They will carry something like Pabst or Hamms, instead of BMC.

I know places that will not carry 10 Barrel or Elysian beers on tap because they are owned by Inbev. Some of the people I know who work in craft beer won't go to the 10 Barrel Brewpub, as a matter of principle.
