Thanks, appreciate the information. I guess I will just let it roll how it is through the winter and see what's going on in the Spring. Anything I need to do to "winterize" or just let it ride?

Grapevine help

Catawpa grapes, first time trying to grow and need some advice. Vine has been growing like crazy, got to top wire of trellis (5ft) about a month ago.

I read to pinch it back about an inch below and it will split and create two laterals to run each way along the wire. I did this and really only one of them has taken off. Its probably 2 feet or more down the left side while the right side is barely growing if at all.

I am trying to fix this before we go dormant, just looking for advice. Should I cut it back to an inch below the top wire again and see if it splits better?

TIA

I go often for work, stay at the Omni. There is a steakhouse on the top floor, nothing amazing, but good food and views. I like Vietnam downtown, probably my favorite spot. Aka has decent sushi and Thai Spice is good if you like those.

If you want to drive south a bit there is Yardarm, small place but good seafood. Railroad brewing and Nueces Brewery are both downtown, decent brews. There is a retro arcade bar downtown now too, was something different.

Hope some of this helps....

People eat that out of the bag? I’ve used them to make a shrimp stock. They even sell them ground up now.

I think that's the purpose, I have used for the same. Sometimes I do eat them out of the bag, salty, slightly chewy. Shrimp jerky basically.

LSU Tiger Stadium should remain closed for the fall

Tiger fans and LSU students might be upset at what an LSU professor of epidemiology has to say about football returning to Tiger Stadium.

According to a report in LSU’s student paper, The Reveille, Professor Edward Trapido says if it were up to him college sports should not return to LSU at this time.

“Certainly, if it were to happen now, no. It’s just too big a crowd,” he told the student paper.
