I still have 3 bottles from last year that I've been hoarding and aging. Hope I can run across some KBS like I did last year. Walked into a little store and found 4 4-packs about a month after release.

A couple months ago I was on a serious bender in new orleans, met a guy at courtyard brewery and we started chatting. He's from chicago. Asked him what his thoughts were on GI and Bourbon County in general and he just about had a panic attack. Said the only thing brewed in chicago now were the sisters. So I started asking more detailed questions because that sounded pretty crazy to me. Guy pulls out his phone and shows me an email from some PR type person at GI saying they are brewing 90% of all beers in upstate NY, including the Bourbon County lineup. Supposedly this email was sent to a group of very loyal local GI supporters, and he was one.

He said he will never buy another GI beer there. Claiming he actually had 2 friends that had lost their jobs because they weren't relocating to upstate NY, even though they had relocation paid for.

I'm a fan of the whole bourbon county lineup, but to say they have not fallen off in the last 3-4 years would be absurd. The beers have clearly changed, for the worse, and it is signs of cutting corners thanks to AB InBev and Obama.

Jax, the Super Nebula was awesome. One of the best beers I've had in that style.

5BD is a Saison Dupont. I sense a nap coming on.

WTF?! Thanks Obama.

This from an article in 2011

"However Hall also said he hopes to return all Goose Island brewing to Chicago within the next three or four years by building a massive new Goose Island plant.

"AB has agreed we are a Chicago-based company and we will continue to be," he said."

I don't think that building happened...yet at least.

I agree gb seems the last 2, 3 yrs the beer is not even in the same class as KBS, hell not even breakfast stout, so many better beers to drinks but it's a damn shame because it was such a great brew
The one coffee I had this yr was solid, but shite I was just happy it wasn't "infected"

And looks like no KBS in Laffy that I've seen so my shitlording will be this weekend

Snagged two bottles earlier today. All I need really, didn't bother to search more but I'm sure it's still out there.
