Looks like you beat me to it so I'll post in this one.

FBD - Shiner Cheer; it's alright but nothing special. I may break out the Parish Grand Reserve later (or wait until tomorrow). Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

about to start my shrimp stock for my annual christmas eve seafood gumbo, though.

Question: I'm a big fan of hopped up red ales (g'night, hop head red etc). Is there any other good representations of that style that are found around BR?

Kim, THAT is a good beer. It's about the only stout I can drink, as I drink mostly bocks/doppellbocks.

3BD - Sierra Nevada Torpedo tall boy - gumbo is done and now whipping up some sugar cookies for the kids to decorate later

It sure is. So smooth and not too sweet. There are not many, if any, 10% ABV beers that hide their alcohol better IMO.

I am curious about whether you'd tried any of the other stouts that are in the same class and readily available. Have you tried North Coast Old Rasputin or Stone's Imperial Russian Stout?
