NOLA!!!

Hope they get a faster canning line too. At least with the expansion, they'll have a place to store some cans.

Haven't had this year's batch, but assuming it is the same as last year, it drinks more like a 6-7% stout. The Sierra Nevada Narwhal is 10.2%, but drinks like it.

Yea, it goes down way too easy.

Half way through this BCS, I decided I better check the abv.......no food in the tummy + 10% = holy crap.

As B said, last year's batch hid its ABV very well when it was young--so smooth. As it aged, it got boozy though. I am looking forward to trying the new batch this season.

Those new coolers they installed recently should definitely help.

Its exciting to watch them grow.

You and me both.... The Louisiana beer scene has really improved in the past few years between new locals and getting some stuff we couldn't previously get in LA the future looks bright.

It was at Calandro's earlier, the 2012 release.

FBD: Abita English Mild Firkin... pitiful.
SBD: NOLA Mechahopzilla... yum!
3BD: Sinebrychoff Porter... always solid, great Finnish porter.
4BD: Sierra Nevada Narhwal... decent beer, will be happy to finish off the 4-pack but doubt I'll need another.

They said 2012, but I doubt that will end up happening.

I expect Lagunitas soon though... Sweetwater, New Belgium and Dogfish Head would be my other bets for 2013 Louisiana arrivals.

Absolutely! I am hopeful that MS improves the beers that are available here. As far as production, it seems MS has improved a little. Lazy Mag's most recent offerings have been good. I'm looking forward to Lucky Town Brewing which should begin its distribution next month--it will only be available by kegs/growlers.

Only a matter of time until we get others. We made a lot of progress in 2012.
