They're almost on my shite list these days too. I wouldn't turn down a chocolate stout/oatmeal stout/hazelnut brown right now at all though.

I got a bomber of this from ZS and I thought it was good-I enjoyed it. There was nothing "off" about any beer I've had from Jester King. Sounds like you got some off bottles and maybe they have quality control issues.

I know blasting cool breweries like JK is blasphemous around here but what I had from them was barely mediocre IMO.
JK is up there with LA31 for title of most fluff and least amount of substance and quality in beers that I've had recently. What I didn't like about their beers is a processing flaw, not a style thing. They really tasted like cardboard to me, which is from oxidation. Like stale wine left open for a couple of days.
I'll take a Real Ale, Endeavor, Pumkinator, etc. from TX but not sure if I can give JK another shot.

Naw, I do it all the time...i.e. Dogfish head is over rated.

Like others have said, you somehow got some bad bottles. But I drink their stuff all the time and have never had an issue. But Kim claims some Endeavour bottles are bad. Again, Ive never had a bad bottle of endeavour.

While that's certainly possible, I've never had a bad product from them and I'm not getting anything super fresh or extra special that I know of.

I am not saying that JK stuff is great, but the 3 beers I've had from JK were certainly better than average and not mediocre IMO. I don't consider your criticism blasphemous. It sounds like they have quality control issues and you got some bad bottles.

I find their stuff completely average. Not sure I've had anything from them that was worth drinking again.
I was expecting less than what I got. I thought they were really well made. I would probably not buy any of their stuff again because they were frankly all pretty boring beers.

Interesting...
Worth an email?
That's not cool to have to Tetu a beer from such a large brewery.
It's like it was infected. The New World Tripel from the same series was great.

Although I've had some bottles better than others, I had never had a bad bottle until last week. B and others have experienced the same thing.

Oh yea, like when I tell a girl I'm worried I'm too small.....
I will add that JK has made the most interesting beer I've ever had...Boxer's Revenge. I need to try another because it had a hundred different tastes going and changed as it warmed. By the end of the bottle Rouge and I both were like, Damn....this is a nasty, crazy, good beer. Sorta like my gf when I was a freshman....
