I think you guys get Sixpoint, Ballast Point, Avery, Founders plus the TX brews (Jester King, etc) that we don't get here. Are you going to be in BR soon?

I'm just mad. They sort of "try" or "tried" when they came out with their bigger beers and their anniversary beers but they still really don't get it.

Listened to an interview of Cigar City today and the things that they do and the things that they have thought of make me :smh: at Abita. Holding out hope for Nola/Parish and even the 40 arpent and the other two groups.

We can do that, but Houston is relatively close and I thought you might be in town for a football weekend. What are you looking for? I'll send you some stuff.

SBD is a Sam Adams Thirteenth Hour Belgian style stout. It's horrific. Tastes like vinegar. It's getting the tetu treatment.

Interesting...

Worth an email?

That's not cool to have to Tetu a beer from such a large brewery.

One of the biggest letdowns I've ever had on a hyped up brewery. The chatter I've heard was all about this artisan brewery with great belgian style beers but the product was terrible. They have these great bottles and labels but man, the beer was a total letdown.

Which one did you have? I've always enjoyed them personally... but I've never liked Cigar City so tastes can certainly differ.

The frick?

Are y'all trying to get me started tonight?

A jester king hater and a cigar city hater. Wow.

Jai alai is a very nice IPA. Could easily be my Go-to like BTH is to KimJongIr.

I've enjoyed their Wytchmaker Rye IPA and Black Metal Stout. Not saying they are the best I've had of style, but they were solid. I guess my expectations were not as high.

Yeah, it's a nice IPA to lube up the drain pipes with.

I've only had the Jai Alai, Espresso, and the Maduro Brown, wouldn't pay for any of them again but wouldn't turn them down either.

I had the noble king twice and black metal once and every one was oxidized bad. It was the same taste I get when I bottle homebrew from a keg not very carefully. Like metallic mixed with cardboard.

I wanted to like their stuff as the concept behind all of their beers is awesome. For me it was a letdown.

ETA: on that same trip I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome Rahr beers were. Kinda traditional styles but really good and well made stuff.

I am certainly not trying to get you riled up, but I think they would be talking Rogue smack if they were trying to get you going.

I find their stuff completely average. Not sure I've had anything from them that was worth drinking again.
