I just found out Tasty Donuts makes them in house last year, kinda reminds me of a Rouses. Think they were like $8 last year, pretty small though.

Have never tried Caluda’s but you made it sound good—just ordered me a Tiger Cake one to be FedEx’ed in time for the game Monday!

(Side note—Does anyone know of any nationwide delivery on Mondays, other than Mardi Gras weekend?)

I know-painful! But that’s the going rate for the big name king cakes, it seems. Plus—special occasion.

6 pages and not one mention of Whole Foods? They make a surprisingly good king cake

I like rouses fresh plain.

Which location? Yesterday they were giving out free samples at the store on Bluebonnet & Perkins. It was not very good--doughy and the icing was way too sweet. I took 2 bites and threw away the rest.

If anyone is passing through Morgan City, stop at Gingers and grab a king cake. Damn good.

Meche’s “ king cake” is a giant doughnut which is then over-stuffed with various jellies and icings.

They are not even king cakes. But if you want a giant jelly filled doughnuts, I guess they will get your vote.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but Rosch Bakehaus is on a whole different level. Keller’s Bakery is solid as well.

Anyone know of a King Cake that is light on the icing and isn't "dry"?

Definitely Keller’s if this is what you are looking for.

My favorite is Keller’s but also like Dong Pyog. Just wish they put a little more filling.

I got this one from le petit Sophie last year and really enjoyed it

Is Dong Phuong already out of shipping days for the year? Their website indicates they are not accepting any more shipped orders.

They have dates in February. Just ordered 2 yesterday

Coffee & is severely underrated. I used pick up a few for the office from their Manhattan location. I noticed they tore it down and built a brand new building. Wonder what’s taking its place?
