Made a big mistake with the Chisesi green onion sausage. Ugh. How is Savoie? Manda? Richard's?

I love Terranova, just trying to branch out a bit.

If it must come from a grocery store, Rabideaux’s if you can get it. Coneceh is a close second.

If you can’t find one of those two, just make a sandwich.

I always choose Manda for red beans. Love it in a pot of any entree.

This stuff is good, just not sure how wide the distribution is. Kroger, Walmart and all of the smaller groceries stock it in Mississippi.

Comes in all sorts of versions Original (my choice), Jalapeno, cheese, onion, bla bla, bla.

I don’t care for Country Pleasin or Conecuh in a pot of food. They use a sage breakfast style seasoning. The Louisiana companies use a Cajun seasoning. Don’t mind those on the grill, but I don’t need an Alabama sausage in my pot of red beans. The Gumps can keep that.

Not many good options in GA, but Conecuh Hot and Spicy is solid. Made the mistake of using Zatarains sausage last time I made red beans. Was awful. Had an odd taste.

Really intrigued by Down Home Meats. Never even heard of it. If I can find a packet I'll report back.

I like Manda in red beans ok, but not the skinny Manda that comes in the 1lb pack. I like the fatter Manda sausage that comes in the big pack or box. I don't care for it, but my youngest son loves the little smokies cocktail wieners that, as far as I'm concerned, are supposed to be only used in crock pots full of bbq sauce at wedding receptions, but I've been known to throw in a pack of those to make him happy.

I use Savoie in my beans when I use smoked sausage. I put the sausage in the pot when the beans are only needing about 1 hour left to cook. That way the sausage gives off some flavor and still retains some.

If cooked the entire time the beans cook, I find the sausage loses almost all it's flavor and is rather bland----and that goes for any sausage I've used in the past.

My mom always used down home growing up, just learned they are from stonewall... that’s good stuff though too on the grill or in beans/gumbo

Best sausage for red beans in my opinion.
