I can't say it was my favorite, but I remember going to Shoney's when I was a kid. Anyone else fond of this creation when they were little?
Yes. LOVED that thing. My parents would never go to Shoney's except for breakfast, though.

I alway's loved Shoney's Strawberry pie, and the breakfast bar.

Favorite stop on the way home from an LSU game. Others were Gennero's on Metairie Road, Ovello's too.

Grew up on the Northshore so we used to drive as a family to a range of places. In order of frequency, Trey Yuen in Hammond (before Mandeville), Sal and Judy's, La Provence, Sharp's in Bush, Fitzgeralds, Middendorf's, Dinner Bell (MS), In the city with my family usually Commander's. When I was really little I remember going to T. Pittari's with my Aunt and Uncle.

Shakey's Pizza Parlor. I loved the game room, the films they would show, and the fact that you could watch them make the pizzas.
Howard Johnson. I used to devour the all you can eat clams.

Piccadilly's in the old Bon Marche mall.
As a kid, there was always something thrilling about having the food in plates right in front of me as if I could choose anything I wanted.

My family are creatures of habits so we ate at the Ralph and Kacoos on Airline in Baton Rouge and the Yellow Bowl in Jeanerette.

We went there sometimes too, but I'm not sure exactly where it was. Wasn't there one where the IHOP on College Dr is now? I remember there being some kind of steak place there years ago (pre-Applebee's).

I remember driving to the Northshore to a place called the Forest. We would go there at least one Sunday a month.
