And the winners are...

First place by a HUGE margin: holygrale’s Andouille Small Bites/Charcuterie Board

Second Place: NOLAGT’s New Orleans Style Red Beans and (Homemade) Andouille

Third place: lambdatiger’s Andouille Infused Bloody Mary!

Wouldn’t that be a great meal? Appetizers, main, and cocktail.

Congrats to all!

holygrale, please select our next challenge ingredient.

First, which of your small bites did you think tasted the best?

And which andouille did you like best?

Thanks, as always, Darla.

Even though it seemed that we didn't have as many entries as usual, we still had 14 dishes. And that was with a tough ingredient.

Just a thought going forward for future winners: think about making the ingredient more generic, like "sausage", instead of "andouille". That might pull in more people.

Having said that, I still believe it should be up to the winner to choose.

Speaking of winners, everyone had a dish I would absolutely eat. Even t00f, even though I'm not sure that was actually andouille on his plate.

But congrats, Holygrale! Well deserved ed.

I liked the Brie Puff the best, I think it was the most balanced, the andouille stood out but all the other flavors and textures were still very present.

Best andouille was a blur, due to all the stuff I had going on all at once in both kitchens. And too many beers/bourbon.

I have extra of all varieties and will revisit with a clearer mind and cleaner kitchen

I would love to see what folks do with mushrooms. Needs some more creative ideas for those.

I think we see tacos a lot in WFDT threads.

The Brie Puff was a thing of beauty and the one that drew me in the most. The Potato and Cheddar Hash also looked like a tasty bite of food.

This could all be interesting.

I'm not the biggest mushrooms fan but can still find some good ways to cook them.

Dang missed putting up a vote. I’m out in the woods hunting for pigs so I can make some fresh fresh sausage

Congrats HG I was putting your board first and lambs Bloody Mary 2nd (making a drink with it never dawned on me) Hadn’t decided the 3rd yet but I gotta say Darla is right my beans after your board washed down with that Bloody Mary sure sounds like a good meal!

Congrats to all who entered again love seeing it all!

I’m game for whatever the next one is. I loath mushrooms in general but I have had some that I liked in a dish like shitski. Mis GT loves them so she would be down to try a dish. I’m good with whatevea doe

Please don't do mushrooms. I know I haven't participated but this food challenge has been great. Mushrooms are the only thing on this planet I will not eat.

You don't have to eat the ingredient, just prepare a meal using it. The more unique the ingredient choice, the more you have to think outside the box and create something that will blow the judges away.

Down for anything. The whole fun of winning is selecting something you want to challenge yourself and everyone else on. I say don't let us keep you from picking what you really want
