Nutria is not a bad choice for La, but any version of gar would be my choice.

California: Goop

Florida: Gator tail

Now wait a minute.

Illinois: Gravy bread
This is essentially a French dip sandwich since it’s “dipped in the warm vat of beef juice for extra flavor/sloppiness,” except it’s missing a prime component. The meat isn’t in the sandwich for this one; it just creates the juice.

This actually sounds good.

Iowa: Loose meat

South Carolina: Chitterlings

Yum !

Virginia: Brunswick stew
If you’re a fan of slurping up vegetables mixed with meat, then it’s probably fine to eat this, except for the fact that the meat used can vary. So you might be eating something other than chicken when you get this dish, like rabbit or “whatever else [Virginians have] access to.”

some folks have a weird idea of "gross".

Utah make plain gelatin with unseasoned vegetable in it.

Why?

That's an odd "grossest food". I've had some damn good brunswick stew in my days. Yes, you can have some really bad brunswick stew, but that is no different than any food.

ETA: And to the ambrosia salad for Alabama, we have some much grosser foods

Yeah, that's why these click bait lists are so damn dumb. They have to keep coming up with new ones so they stretch everything they can

Texas: Deep-fried butter

fricking idiots, this is a state fair dish. It’s not like we all deep fry butter every Sunday for the family. It’s just another one of the absurd state fair ideas they come up with every year.

Wisconsin's grossest food is a burger with butter?

Damn that's a terrible list. There is nothing gross about a Fat Elvis. I have a feeling the person that made this list doesn't like any spices or flavor.

In Oregon, we love our ice cream...

ETA: It's Halloween season, so the blood pudding ice cream is back on the menu at Salt and Straw. So is the Creepy Crawly ice cream with chocolate covered crickets and toffee covered mealworms...

A bunch of stupid hipster women probably wrote this. They're freaking out over beef stew. Sorry, not everyone only eats avocado toast, pizza, and salad
