Looking to try one of the many places along Williams Blvd for a unique dining experience tonight. Nothing fancy obviously.

I’m open to any and all suggestions. Las Carnitas 2, Nola Desi, Little Chinatown, and Falafel King appear to be the early front runners.

It's not technically on Williams but Mi Pueblito in the area was good when I used to work in the area

Would also highly recommend Little China town and if you have a big appetite don't miss the salt and pepper chicken wings

Little Chinatown (just wished they served real eggrolls)
Don Jose's
Hurst Restaurant (not on Williams, but not far off on Airline. Basic, good soul food - bring cash, no cards accepted.)

Pollo A La Brasas Fiestas at 3901 Williams is an excellent restaurant. Focus on chicken but it's damn good chicken. Plantains are awesome and they have chicken taquitos as a special that are fantastic.

Thanks all for the recs thus far. Of the Mexican places listed, do any skew more traditional or are they mostly Tex-Mex. it’s hard to get a read via Yelp or their posted menus.

I've eaten at them all.

For middle Eastern or Mediteranian you want Shish Ka Bob house. Get the family sampler plate fo $27, and feed 3-4.

Chinese - Little Chinatown is easily the best in the city at everything but eggrolls and fried rice. Try the salt and pepper oysters or the pig leg.

Latin American - Georgia's, or Mi Pueblito are my favorites. I didn't like Carinats 2 the first time, but probably was because they had just opened.

The one I recommend above all is pollos a brasa fiesta. Excellent grilled meats, but a very limited menu, but South American style bbq is rare here.

Nola Desi is okay, But Shyan's on Houma has better Pakistani.

of all the places the only Tex Mex is Don Jose and Two Amigos (basically Panchos) everything else is Honduran or Guatemalean. Very few Mexicans in Kenner, and Hondurans hate Mexicans.

If Kenner had decent BBq (sorry Ted's), true Italian (north of I10, sorry Gendusa's) and s steak house we would have it all.

(except there is not ONE fancy place to eat in Kenner, Copeland's or Brick Oven ((not to be confused with the excellent pizza place in Austin)) are the only decent date restaurants) Sad.

Legit. Straight up obliterated one of my hangovers. Nola Desi has been on my hit list as well.

My buddy got a plate from a place called Nola Nica recently. It looked amazing and he said it was fantastic.

Nola Nica is really good, but in a horrible location. It's on Airline on the other side the airport, in the area most consider to be St. Rose, yet is still Kenner.

That’s the street I live on, and I have never tried that place. Guess I’m going to have to stop and try it one day soon.

Casa Garcia

Their bean dip alone is worth the trip.

Little Chinatown is excellent, Two Amigos not the fanciest but pretty good food with free ice cream. They also have coupons on their FB page

not trying to hijack thread, but what is wrong with their egg rolls....how does a Chinese place mess up egg rolls and still be considered good? I've never been just curious about this.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. We ended up at Shishkabob House and it did not disappoint. We were the only non-Middle table in the restaurant so I knew it was going to be good as soon as we sat down.

To start, we split an order of the Kibbeh (akin to a minced meat pie) and Labneh (basically spiced Greek yogurt). The Labneh was served with hot pita bread. I could’ve done without the Labneh but the Kibbeh was perfectly fried and packed with pine nuts, minced beef, and cracked wheat. I could’ve had ten.

I wasn’t all that hungry so I got the lunch portion of the Chicken kabob and substituted the regular salad for the Greek salad. You get huge portions for the price so I was happy with my choice. My uncle tried all three Kabobs and supeisinglh the chicken was the standout. It was juicy, well spiced and cooked to perfection. The lamb was a close second though. Beef was a bit dried out.

I definitely want to go back again and explore more of this menu on a weekend when I’m more inclined to eat larger portions.
