Meh. List is a cuppa weak tea....Italian, Spanish, & Mexican barely count as "ethnic" dining in LA in 2016. Those lists compiled from web surfing are useless. How 'bout the Korean bakery in Laplace, or the Cuban joint in Morgan City, or the Laotian resto in Bossier City?

The exterior of the Sabores Dominican Restaurant building in Shreveport is the 3rd best Ethnic Restaurant in the state. Their food is the 11th best..

But, who doesn't think Lafayetized sushi when they think "ethnic" food in Louisiana?

Tasterite is the best restaurant in Lake Charles that most people don't know about. I recommend it to everyone I know. It's in the ghetto, but no worries if you go during the day. The curry chicken, jerk pork, fried chicken, oxtail, and curry goat are my favorites. They also do Jamaican style boiled crawfish. It's a different take from the Cajun version but they are very tasty. Very sweet woman named Heather who runs it as well.

I've been to the ones in bold. Enjoyed most of them, didn't really see what made Trey Yuen special.

Wish they still had an Indian restaurant on the northshore. I freakin love it but don't get to have it that often.

So dramatic

It's like the 3rd-4th best sushi place in town. It's hardly "horrible"

Curry N Kabab is very good. Their food is probably the same quality as Bay Leaf without the pretentious atmosphere of tuxedo-clad waiters serving me curry.

I don't think this was a "best of" list. Just a good sample from across the state.

In this case, Tsunami is horrible.

I've worked in a Japanese restaurant and have had my share of quality fish over the years. I had a bite of fish at Tsunami that was rancid and had to spit it out. They came two per order. When the waitress came back, I let her know that the fish wasn't good, and being from the restaurant industry, out of courtesy I wanted to let the Chef know that his fish was bad. I asked that the waitress let the Chef know. I was at a table next to the sushi bar and could see that she didn't mention a thing to the Chef. Obviously the fish was continued to be served.

Never mind that they served me inedible sushi. Never mind that they didn't take it off the bill. It downright pissed me off that they didn't even check into it. Obviously, they don't give a frick and I'll never be back. Food service isn't perfect 100% of the time, but if it isn't, the restaurant had better check into it and correct the problem.

That sucks. I've had a few good experiences there but this is an instance that highlights the importance of having a good front of the house staff.

I had this happen at 2Paul's in Lafayette. The pulled pork was rancid. I had two others at my table try it and they spit it out too. I let the manager know and like Tsunami, he basically didn't give a frick either. He thought I was just trying to get something for nothing, when I was letting him know out of courtesy. He finally did offer me something to replace it, and just to prove I wasn't looking for something for nothing, I declined. He never did check into his product. I won't be back there either.

I don't go there enough. Then again, the wife will not eat anything there, so there's that.
