We are thinking about going to this place tonight for restaurant week. Has anyone been this week that can give me a thumbs up or down?

Everything I've had from there has been very good. I'd recommend the red beans and rice, crawfish queso, boudin burger and any of the savory pies.

It’s not very expensive, you don’t need the restaurant week deal to be able to afford it. Just do a normal menu and you’ll enjoy it more

Short, recent thread on the subject:

With that said, I went last year for Restaurant Week and loved their menu. Looking at it for this year, I'm not terribly impressed. Feel free to go, but only if they are also serving their regular menu as well.

Went recently with some friends. Everyone enjoyed everything that was ordered. So just order what sounds good to you.

I was as blown away with the crawfish queso as some have posted here. It was good but a little weird eating queso with pork rinds.

If they have the seafood pot pie, it's good.wouldnt eat the then go somewhere though. You'll be miserable and it's pretty rich if you know what I mean.

Thanks for that. We went to Doe's instead. We will save Elsie's for another time.

I don't know why this got downvoted. OP was taking advantage of Doe's restaurant week specials because another poster (correctly) told him that, given Elsie's normal price points, OP should take advantage of a better restaurant week offer and just go to Elsie's later and order off of the delicious regular menu. Not only will the food be just as good, but Elsie's is going to make their regular profit on those dishes.

Because the thread was started asking specifically about elsies, he gets a bunch of suggestions on food and how good it is, and goes to a completely different place being an average at best steak house

Just don't even report back to the thread imo

I just ate at Elsie's. The Boudin burger was very good. The seafood Lafourche bisque was really good. I hate to say that I'm topping it off with a chocolate cream pie, it too is very good. Best meal I've had this week.

Had it for the first time last week. Cant wait to go back. The Smokey 3 Cheese Pimento app was amazing.

I found the crust on the pie a tad bit hard to cut through, however.

That apple pie with ice cream is pretty good. Wife and I stop in from time to time in the middle of the afternoon for a piece and a cup of coffee.

Oyster BLT is good as well.

That chicken sandwich with the blueberry bbq sauce is underrated
