Ever see people eat pancakes or waffles dry? What the Hell? I can see just jelly or Nutella (which is damn good on waffles), but just plain with maybe just butter.

What kind of anti-Trump/Americans are these people?

Have we reached the edge of the universe and crossed over into the twilight zone? I've seen politics pulled into some odd topics...but pancakes.

I like em with butter and either fresh cane syrup or maple depending on the mood. Sometimes throw in some bananas and pecans.

I like a waffle with melted butter poured over it, covered in powdered sugar, like a beignet.

I love both without syrup. Especially with butter on them. I dip pancakes in runny egg yolks anytime I eat them.

I don’t eat pancakes, waffles, or syrup. What does that make me?

Jones has never even had pancakes, waffles, or I imagine syrup either.. so..

I don’t get the shock against eating them savory though, OP. A good buttery waffle is delicious.

You sure do complain about some stupid shite. Why do you care if someone else doesn’t like a sugar bomb?

No syrup on either. Have to have butter on my waffles though, and butter does make the majority of pancakes taste better.

I don’t like that “fake” maple syrup. Give me Steens, or some real fruit syrup.

I never eat pancakes or waffles, love them, but too many carbs and sugar. But, if I did, I grew up on Brer Rabbit cane syrup, I still prefer greatly over maple syrup. MY grandchildren don't like any syrup, just melted butter sprinkled with powdered sugar.

This is a topic of great import, all good men should come to the aid of their pancake topping preference.

I rarely eat them, but I can eat both with melted butter only. Delicious.

My kids didn’t know what syrup was until a trip to grandma’s house. We still don’t use it—I just tell them they don’t sell it at the stores here.

I eat waffles and pancakes so rarely that I go pretty crazy with the syrup. Maple syrup. You weirdos can keep those other weird flavors.

If the pancake is really good, all it needs is butter.

The crumbled up breakfast sausage goes in the skillet to get browned.
The pancake batter goes on the browned crumbled up breakfast sausage and gets cooked up.
The syrup goes on the pancake with crumbled up breakfast sausage in it.
A thin omelette goes on top of the syrup.

You think McDonald's came up with the McGriddle all on their own?

Pancakes and waffles are definitely are too dry and bland for me on their own, as are biscuits. They're all delicious as part of a breakfast ensemble or alongside some banging fried chicken, but if it's just the bread product on its own, I'll pass.

It's disgusting how much butter people put on waffles or pancakes.
