I’m looking to jazz up my duck camp a little. What are good appetizers to serve in the evening while getting ready for dinner…while drinking? I would like things that I can prepare ahead of time and assemble at the camp using a broiler and microwave. So far I’ve got:

- barbecue pulled chicken/pork on a chip with cheddar cheese
- deer sausage on a chip with cheddar cheese
- shrimp with Alfredo sauce on a cracker with Parmesan

I hunt with a bunch of savages, so I prefer things that you can eat with your hands.

Make ahead of time then reheat

Crock pot
A rotisserie chicken deboned and chopped up
A block of velveeta
Two sticks of cream cheese
A large bottle of franks redhot

Mix it until dip constancy then eat with chips

ETA: boudin stuffed pistolets
Summer sausage and cheeses

Everyone loves dips. Google recipes for boudin dips, shrimp dip, etc.

Dips are always a winner and can be simple or as jazzed up as you want.

Bacon wrapped dates are good.

Appetizer style will depend on how much time you have and how many ingredients you want to put in.

BBQ meatballs. I’ve been eating them with Parmesan garlic wing sauce for a change of pace.

My family’s favorite appetizer on holidays is stuffed celery. Block of cream cheese with chopped green olives and a splash of juice mixed up and loaded into celery stalks. I’ve added parm cheese and black olives before as well.

Cream cheese & pickapepper with wheat thins.

You ONLY have a broiler and microwave? or is the broiler an oven? Makes a difference.

Microwaving them adds a nice touch.

Wild game poppers are always great, easy to prepare ahead of time.

Can make any sort of dip as said, Velvetta dip with venison sausage is always good.

Most traditional "grilled" items can be done in the oven/ broiler. So any sort of steak, roasts, etc.

Can also do a stew, gumbo, roast, etc. made a head of time and just reheated.

Sausage stuffed mushrooms. Get house made fresh pork sausage from local grocery store and remove ground sausage from casing. Stuff mushrooms and cook until sausage is done. Pepper jelly glaze optional.

Trader Joe's has a very good substitute. I like them better. I went there to get some tamales and grabbed a bag. I never shop there and thought they had a mask mandate because ALL the granolas working and shopping there had masks on except for me and two other guys.

I can't find these anywhere. They are really good.

Bacon wrapped anything

Velveeta rotel dip

bacon wrapped oysters under the broiler till the bacon is crispy

grilled or broiled boudin links cut into serving sizes
