Man, I liked DTB a lot. I guess Covid was just too much.

Sad to hear—I liked the food and the space. Would have gone more often if it had weekday lunch service.

Sorry to hear that. It was a good spot and I used to live over there. I really liked that area for the distinct lack of tourists.

Yeah, not the only one on Oak going down. Chiba bit the dust too.

I figured this was coming after the owner's tragic death earlier. Great spot and will be missed.

Oak is kind of depressing as of late. a lot of shuttered store fronts. Granted, many were just not great, but still.

Plenty of sky high rent too....I’m hoping the Cansecos market is able to make a go of things.

Chiba and la casita are closed, as is the little grocery store. Plus several non restaurant businesses have closed too. I have no idea how that kava bar is Still open but it’s rolling.

Not at the moment, but AFAIK, they're not permanently closed like DTB, or Mellow Mushroom, or the old Made Grocery/Simone's Market.

Is Cowbell now officially closed down? It certainly looks like it

As far as DTB, the Chef who came after Carl has opened a spot in Thibodaux called Cuvee which looks to be doing well.

Cowbell's website says "COWBELL will be extending our closure through December 2020.

We hope to re-open in the coming New Year, as we hope for passage of some manner of Small Business Assistance opportunity nationwide."

It goes on further, but you get it. I hope they survive as it's a unique spot with great food.
