What kind of pill?
If it's solid...crush it up in a Ziploc bag, and mix the powder with bacon grease.
If it's a capsule...cut open the capsule and mix the powder with bacon grease.
I've yet to meet the dog who could resist bacon grease. Even the smart ones who know something's up can't help themselves.

we used sliced cheese, and they figured it out
we used peanut butter on bread or crackers and they figured it out
we used the pill pockets and they figured it out
now i use a bit of hot dog, after its been in the microwave for like 10 seconds. get the cheap arse hot dogs tha are like a dollar

I put it in a little ball of ground beef (raw) and my dog downs it. We used pill pockets for a while, but my smart arse dog figured out that everything he got that treat it was filled with meds and he won't even eat them anymore, with or without a pill in them.

The real pill pockets, or we shove it in his mouth and hold his head in place until he relents and eats it. Otherwise he'll separate it from whatever we give him.

I use this stuff, it's like liverwurst. Just get a spoonful or two, wrap it around the pills, and he devours it. It's about the only thing he'll take his pills in. And it's about 1/5 the cost of Pill Pockets.

Cheap arse lunch meat -- the 79 cents a pack, paper-thin slice stuff. Works like a charm and a pack will last a week or so
