No they won't.

HEB Central Market blows the doors off of any regular HEB store. It's my go-to place for my grilling needs. The only downside I would say is the lack of selection of regular goods such as you aren't going to find pop-tarts or Cheerios on sale.

I'd never shop anywhere else if they opened an HEB in Lafayette

I finally made my way down to the new Warehouse District Rouses and was really impressed. However none of the other Rouses I've been to are any where even near this quality. The service was very good (along the lines of Whole Foods) and I tried a slice of pizza from the hot line which wasn't great (not along the lines of Whole Foods).
I know the Mandeville location was brought up earlier but I think that location particularly sucks. It has a horrible layout and in general just a strange feel.

Isn't there not even any HEB's inside the loop (Central Market aside)? I haven't seen any, but I admit I'm not going searching when there's a nice small whole foods about 30 seconds away.

Hell no.
And Rouses handled this hurricane like a boss. Very impressed with this store. They had huge generators for several of their stores and were open Thursday. Everytime I went it seemed like they were getting water and ice restocks.
Both stores I visited didn't run out of bread, milk, etc either.

It is. You're more than likely being a homer.

Albertsons has been known to have very shitty seafood and meat depts. Their mgmt seems to suck too.

The store selection around LSU is horrible. A Rouses in this area would be awesome.

rouses is better than alberstons strictly based on their wine and liquor sections.
rouses trumps albertsons on all levels. sorry, paul.

To each and their own. I'm simply seeking a rational and civil debate between the two stores.

I have been a loyal Albertsons shopper for years, but a lot of that loyalty has been due to location, convenience, and familiarity. The one nearest me goes through periods of not keeping staples well stocked and it is VERY annoying to try again a week later and the item is still out of stock.
Rouses is not near my house, but not too inconvenient to go to after work or during my lunch time. I find myself going there more and more often. Albertsons has more items, and I'm sure I will continue to shop there. It just won't get as much of my business as it used to.

I've said it and many people on this site have said the same thing that Albertson's has a smell to it like rotten seafood or something like that. I still do most of my shopping at one because of the location but I'll check out that new place(Alexander's?) when it opens.

So is Rouses better because of liquor and wine or because of everything?
Posted on 9/3/12 at 8:09 am to PrivateJoker
everything... but i was personally impressed with their wine and liquor section.
